How to deal with Divers as a Low Elo ADC?

Just a small problem I have with Divers in general, Tryndamere being the main offender (as you can't simply out DPS/Sustain him and go on with the team fight due to his ult).

I'm new to the ADC role, as I've been playing mostly assassins in the JG/Mid or tanky top laners as Singed and Gnar. One huge problem I usually have when playing ADCs is that I have no peel coming from my team, so I'd like people playing on higher Elos to shed some light on this:

How can you survive divers as an ADC when your team won't peel for you?

If it helps, the ADCs I usually play are: Twitch: Very assassiny, which helps with my transition between roles. Great flanker and possibly the best ADC to have in a jungle fight. Sivir: Safe and relatively strong. Can wave clear easily and safely hit the back line in a team fight without over extending due to her W. Also provides valuable utility even if behind with her Ult. Kennen: Possibly the best self peel out of any ADC unless your enemy is an Olaf. Even if his damage and range is subpar, I feel like he's a reliable pick if you're afraid of an enemy diver/assassin.

PS: BTW, Thanks so much for the advices, guys!

Generally, if you are a lower elo ADC, to deal with strong diving and melee dps champions you have a couple of options. Firstly you can play champions that already have a good time against them - Vayne is the most notable option, but you can also play Caitlyn or Ezreal, who have a huge range advantage, or you could even try Quinn (though really I don't think she's good as an ADC right now). You also should look to build a defensive item. Normally you have allies to peel for you, but in low elo you don't, so living on your own is a bit more important, and you should hopefully be able to sacrifice an item slot of damage to live just a little longer. Against Trynd this would probably be a Randuins, but against most other champions GA is a better option

Well simply put, you can't really survive divers on those champions. They have no cc and unreliable escape tools, outside of Kennen's E which I think has a decently long cooldown, as Twitch's Q doesn't work if he's taking damage. For Sivir, you have to kite. You get movement speed from your passive and ult that you have to use. Also Phantom Dancer can be very helpful in these situations. I myself hate everyone who gets Phantom Dancer because the item is just too cost-efficient and scummy. If you're team is too incompetent to peel for you, just stay behind them. They'll have to peel for themselves and will probably peel for you in the process. I'm sorry if this wasn't very helpful, I'm just a gold noob who bans Caitlyn or Lucian every game.

Kennen's point is to have the double/triple stun with ult and abilities. The ult becomes your peeling tool instead of an initiation tool (unless you're so far ahead it doesn't matter).

My biggest tip(Other than to duo with a support who you can trust to watch your back and peel for you), would be to wait before you get near the fight. As an Assassin player you ought to understand that. Pretend you're Kat, or Diana, and you want to dive into their team and do damage. You don't charge ahead of the team and run in, you wait until after someone else goes in and gets nuked with the enemy team's CC.. THEN you dive in and wreak havoc.

As an ADC without peel, it's similar. Except instead of CC, you're waiting for gapclosers/engage. They have Amumu/Trynd/Diana? Stand so far back that you can't participate, in a safe spot. They only have a split second to pick their target and dump their gapclosers/engages on it. If you're not right there, it goes to someone else. All you need is that second of waiting. Watch for Trynd to E onto your mage instead, or Watch for Mumu to use his Q and hit your frontline.. THEN walk up and proceed to dump on them.

If you have peel of course you join the fight as soon as you can. Without peel, you really have to stand back and let your team flounder for a moment, trusting that you'll make up for it by walking in and not getting blown up.

The "wait it out" strategy is the one I use the most. In my last game I would usually wait it out until CCs were used and gap closers were out, then I'd go in, roflstomp their entire team with my Ult, and die to Trynd with his ult and Low CD E. In hindsights, I should probably wait until he's at least about 2 seconds in his ult to engage instead of doing so instantly.

But basicly I have to do the same thing I've been trying to, but in the right way.

Basically. Trynd is a special case. His E Cooldown is reduced by Crits. Typically within 5 Auto attacks you can expect it to be up again(5 from him, not you). The catch 22 here is that he's not likely to NEED to ult until after you've engaged to do enough damage.

As a Trynd player, the way I'm beaten most often is someone will get me just low enough that I ult, then they disengage like a MoFo. I can either E at them and hope to kill them anyway, but most likely die because I used 2-3 seconds my ult just to catch them, or I can try to run. Either way the other person won the fight because I'm now so low that I can't do anything, and my ult is down for 60s+. Sure, he can go sustain off a camp back to full, but his ult is down if you re-engage quickly, or he's at least out of the way for awhile.

It's that E cooldown reset that makes it hard though. As soon as he uses it, go in, get a couple shots off, and hope like hell that he ults. Count to 4, if he hasn't E'd again yet, it's probably up and ready to close on you(IF he has been auto attacking someone for the crits for the CD redux). Fall back until it's used again. If he E's toward you, take an AA or two at him so he uses his W before you run. If he uses it after it's going to slow you and cause your death, so you may as well stick an AA and wait for it facing him. If he ults, fall back hard unless you're 100% sure you'll survive the next 5 seconds with him potentially in your face. He doesn't have to be dead to beat him, considering he'll not have enough health to do anything if he DOES get away with his ult.
