Idea to ACTUALLY balance Darius

Glîtchy··2 votes·479 views

So I've noticed how Darius does STUPID amounts of damage without ACTUALLY building damage and just going tank, so I think to balance him, the BEST way possible is to make his ult NOT reset upon getting a kill, because high damage with a true damage ult + being stupidly tanky with bleed effect from his passive, it all just adds up to ultimate bs, so I think that removing the reset from his ult would balance him for real, feel free to explain if you disagree with me and why.

Actually my idea would be to make his passive not give him 300 free AD if he gets 5 stacks on an enemy.

He only does a lot of damage under two very avoidable conditions

  1. You let him get close AND hit his Q. Both are very avoidable as Darius has no way to get to you outside of Flash, or his short range pull.

  2. He was allowed to be close to you for a long period of time and get all his stacks on you to make his ult do a lot of damage and get his passive rolling.

If you avoid those, he doesn't do much at all. Yes, if you let him do whatever he wants then he is very potent, but he has clear counterplay that is relatively easy to do. He is pretty balanced now, especially after the last nerf.

well what top lanes even work against him? I play Nasus Renekton Trundle top and I just lose to him anyway.

Darius is meant to have a strong lane like most juggernauts. Naus on the other hand has a very weak lane so losing lane there is to be expected and is not unfair, just a difference in scaling. On renekton you should be able to harras him with your q, use your e to never get hit by his q, and should he pull you, you still have your stun. It is mostly a skill matchup where if no one thinks ahead darius wins. On trundle you got to abuse your piller disengage to never get hit by his q as well as much better sustain than him through your passive. If you can all in him after he uses his q and you have ult up you could win it but always keep the piller for disengage.

Nasus does poorly into him like he does into everyone.

Renekton can actually stand toe to toe with him. Wait until Darius Qs, then use Slice to get in and only get hit with the handle, meaning he doesn't get a bleed stack and it only does 35% damage. Then stun, Q, Dice out. Trade won. Repeat until you have control.

Trundle you win by gracefully losing. Don't greed for CS, accept that you'll be down 10-20 cs and just farm it out. You outscale him so hard, especially in splitpush situations later.

His ult reset isn't actually all that powerful (as in, it just doesn't get to happen much) and quite frankly it's just one of the best feeling and most unique points of his kit. So I'd leave that alone and make a change that's actually meaningful.

If I were to change anything...I think I'd give him 125 range again. Lowers his threat range, means he has to get closer and can't chase quite as well, and gives him a little more trouble in lane too.

no, you suck

darius is already balanced around the fact that his damage is actually avoidable. on top of that he is insanely easy to kite and wins most short fights if you have a champion with high attack speed for sustain damage you can rek darius, especially if that champ is ranged.

if you cant comprehend what im saying, imagine if u just gave garen a reset on his ult, and a 15% missing hp heal on his q, and tell me how balanced that would be.

First of all, screw you for the "you suck"

secondly how is that example for Garen balanced? it is anything but that.

I'd say remove the q healing. That's it.
