ADC seems to have no function?
Hello everyone, i would like to share my thoughts on the current state of adc and ask your opinions in return, i'm sorry if i come off as condescending at any point, these are really just my opinions and observations as a long time cancerous 1 trick vayne main.
I started the game in season 4 (this acc isn't my first one), and in season 5 reached my highest rank, gold 3. I know gold isn't anything impressive, but at that time as an adc main i really felt like my practice was paying off, slowly but surely. I felt like i had much to improve on still, but i could tell that my losses were often attributed to bad decisions or just not being that good mechanically.
By the end of season 5 this weird tank meta started, and from preseason 6 everything went downhill for me. Perhaps this is something that not ALL adc's had happen, i can only speak for vayne since it's the adc i mostly play, combined with this acc i have around 1.5 million mastery points on her, i deleted my old acc after looking at 1.1 million mastery and still being silver 4 in season 6. I was extremely frustrated with the rework on Vayne's W, made her lane even worse, and then gave the Q all the power. The problem with this is that it encouraged vayne players to max Q and build less attack speed-life steal and more crit/ flat ad. So instead of building bork, which has become an obsolete item for her at this point, you build BF and play a very all or nothing unreliable ass game... Back in season 4-5 i would only go crit vayne if i was waaaay ahead, usually bork was the better option since crit vayne managed to be an even bigger glass cannon than life steal vayne, so when they nerfed bork to high hell and her W, the option is only crit vayne now for a while, check champ gg or any source, the main builds that do well in solo Q are IE+Statik shiv only, we have no options it seems.
My feelings in season 6-into 7 now, i took a break and came back hoping for change, but it's still the same. A problem i'm seeing bot lane, from my perspective, is that the support decides the lane now. I remember late game carries always being weak in lane, but you could still win lane, it was just harder, now it feels out of your hands completely. Every kill i get in lane, just about any play or anything good that happens bot, isn't because of me... It's a support engage or jg gank and my follow up, which is fine, but it feels like i have absolutely no power in lane what so ever, and it's a snooze fest for 10-15m. Another thing i have noticed is how easily the supports can fight the adc, when i look at the death cap/damage chart to see what killed me, it's rarely ever predominant damage from the adc early on, it's mostly support damage that's building full tank...? That's what i'm noticing, tanks build full fucking tank and still act like really strong bruisers, there seems to be no balance. Season 4-5 you could kite them and between bork and life steal vayne was an actual anti tank. Now? The tanks kill me so quick i can't even kite them. Vayne isn't an anti tank anymore, she's suppose to be in theory, but the crit vayne you see is more of a burst carry, which makes no sense for a atk speed based champ. Use to be that with bork you would do very well against tanks, but vayne players knew to stay away from other burst carries because the idea was damage over time, crit vayne isn't damage over time, it's flat all or nothing crit burst, you go for squishies with this build, not tanks. And the problem i see with that is if i want to play a burst carry, i'll just go Mid-lane... What is the role of an adc anymore? Early on i deal no damage, but everyone else does, mid game i do ok, but other assassins and tanks kill me with little to no effort, then late game i catch up, around lvl 15... Yeah shes strong super late game, but CC is still way stronger, even if i have Qss and ga by then, i still get killed quickly some times, so i find it much easier to just support and go mid or jg because your influence is from begging to end, not just by the end, it's a damn coin toss to get to the late game, more than ever.
Now, the logical answer to climb would be to not play adc, that's fine, but i didn't make this acc to clim, i made it to have fun and adc is my favorite lane so i'll keep playing it regardless, i'm just sharing that for a long time now i have noticed adc's being at a disadvantage in the game, there are always only a handful like 2-3 each month that are viable, mostly i see jhin and draven now, who seem unbeatable. Casters and assassins 1 shot adc's much easier, and tanks out damage me with not a single damage item...What the fuck am i not getting about this arrangement and why are people still telling me Vayne is Op if i see her at the bottom winrate charts? I get shes annoying to deal with if fed, but i have such an unbelievable amount of practice on her and still gets me nowhere it's crazy, maybe i just really don't get how to adc anymore. Any other adc mains, are you doing well and if so what are some hints/advice you can share for me to have an easier time here? thanks.
