Why would a new player stay?

I decided to test this after a friend told me that early levels are literally only smurfs, my gosh it's true. I'm not sure if i got smurf detected or what exactly but straight out of bots literally all 10 players are smurfs, i was gold 3, not that great at the game right, but some players here are obviously plat + really good at the game, doing God only knows what at this rank, i'm like lvl 7 right now on this acc. I'm here trying to get a friend use to the mechanics of the game now that he is able to beat bots, i figured we could lane together and i could teach him but it's just not possible, every player not only is a smurf but they expect people who just learned how to play to do well in PVP against other smurfs, he obviously had no fun getting wrecked by the try hard yasuo and even worse getting utterly shit talked every single game, the dude can't seem to get a match with people from hes actual level... Could this be why league is losing players? the old players are tired of bad game balance and the new ones who try to join can't learn/lose interest because there is always a team of smurfs wrecking them or shit talking all game

As a person who spend most of his league time in the last 2 years teaching newbies, i think the reason league is not getting new players is simply becouse 1 It takes too much time to get on the level of more veteran players(Runes, champs ext..) 2 Its just too toxic, between the smurfs, the flamers and people starting new accounts becouse they got banned, most of thier experience is far from pleasant.

matchmaking is great for when you want to play tough competitive games. but after a while its nice to just be able to relax and try new champions and mess around. thats why you have to make smurf accounts.

You can play against smurfs as Malphite support or something like that if you have experience with other point and click style games. People pick Yasuo as their main when they start and do dumb stuff like that.

I stayed around for the teemo skins and free icons.

But in order to get the 'free' (they actually cost some IP) icons you got to log in and check the store, because then they expire.

The** tipping point*** for bots/cheats and other low life's came and went sometime early last year. Riot was too busy implementing SJW thought crimes to notice or care.

Basically if you're not in gold or above, you're trash to them, and your opinions are meaningless.

.* because systems can only support so many parasites, same for eco systems, economic systems, and gaming systems.

I agree with the toxic environment. Leagues is just to negative these days and no one wants to stay really.

Oh ya it's definitely rare to find a legit new player in low level games. And ya it must be tough... even just having decent mechanics/decision making means you stomp a new player easily.

Listen, there's going to be games like that. But just don't give up. Keep playing and if you encounter those just let it go. There will be more games to come and you'll make good friends. Just keep playing and stay in school.
