Why are there so many random downvotes on the Gameplay forum?

Is it because you don't want to discuss off-meta stuff? Is content that deviates from the norm seen as a taboo here on the Gameplay forums?

I was really hoping to discuss some serious stuff that I put a lot of hard work and effort into, but it appears that if i'm not just complaining or discussing the flavour of the Gameplay month, I might as well not be posting at all.

That's really disappointing, as someone who loves to discuss different, innovative, and strong ways to play the game.

I thought the upvote/downvote system, Nami, was meant to exist to remove content that has no place in being where it is?

So doesn't it strike you as odd that Gameplay is so quick to judge something someone else would put so much effort into just because they aren't familiar with how it works or the champion involved in the discussion? It seems entirely counter-intuitive to what the core values of Gameplay are in the first place. Where else would I put this if I want to spark a discussion on something I spent so much time on?

It's just a let-down, and as a Warden (former Warden? I don't see anything fancy around your name anymore), I would have expected a more mature response from you.

I'm not coddling you over 2 downvotes, they aren't killing any discussion. Also, if you've seen anything Wuks has posted lately, they are looking to roll out improvements in this regard.

Gameplay is not just about "Balance". It's also about strategies and playing the game. This isn't about fixing anything that is or isn't broken, this is about trying to have a discussion about something I'm passionate about and having people shit on it because it's not meta right now. You know as well as I do that once something passes off the "New" tab, if it's at 1 or less downvotes, the odds of any discussion continuing in that thread are almost zero.

So I think I have a right to be disappointed when the board I get directed to for stuff like this shuns that stuff despite how much effort I put into setting up a good argument for it with pictures, builds, and the whole nine.

You don't need ten threads about Klepto Ezreal in the hot section. You just need one megathread. You're all saying the same thing.

The downvote button is meant to be used as a means of stating that there's content that doesn't belong on the forum.

I understand balance is an important part of G&B, but it's not the only part, and serious discussions about the game shouldn't ever be shunned, ignored, or downvoted and you know that.

it was an example. How can tons of threads about the same thing (like nerfing Yasuo) get upvoted when you seriously only need one to discuss the entire topic. That's counter-intuitive to your argument.
