I am fine with him having a niche of true damage mage

But the condition you put is really low Velkoz already normaly performs his entire combo in less then 0,3 sec by just using all the abilities on the same spot [slayer-pantheon-popcorn] [zombie-brand-facepalm]

All of his other abilities do less damage so if you somehow disrupt the ult or dodge it he's fucked

You're going to have to stun or disrupt his ultimate. Just like everyone learns to do to Katarina within the first two times of playing against her.

I mean, VK probably still does less damage with his ult than MF does even with the true damage.

yes all of his abilities do less damage but that doesnt matter when he gets super saiyan mode now in 70% cases because lets face it . casting 4 abilities in 1 spot isnt trouble. You just gotta hit e..

Velkoz is going to laser everyone from 900 range while with kata she is literaly in center of everything

Only high elo players can instantly stun katarina when she uses an ultimate else you need insane predictions. Most of the time katarina spins for half the duration even if stuned and thats loads of damage same can be applied for velkoz except he does this from 900 range

Moral of story. Velkoz must be engaged on

Maybe for one target, if he can hit them with three abilities (or two abilities if he gets the second hit with his W). Odds are he isn't going to be hitting every single enemy with the true damage from his ult unless they stand really close together to all get hit by his E and both ticks from W to count as "researched", which, from my experience as Vel'koz, is not that often.
