just a thought about smite

what if we gave jungle items smite as a unique active? being that junglers already sacrifice a summoner for smite (forcing them smite-flash) I think it would be kind of cool. of course, to stop laners from abusing it, you could always have it gain charges by clearing jungle creeps. thoughts?

I think you should be able to buy jg items without taking smite because I forget to grab it about 20% of the time when I roll jg and completely ruin my game...

Hmm tbh it would be a bad idea. If your support gets it, you can basically do dragon very early in the game without your jungler (that's the first thing that came to my mind), same for "baron fights", if everyone gets a smite it would be a disaster

But yeah as CraazyFace said, it's terrible that a simple mistake in a lobby can ruin your entire game

but wouldn't they be sacrificing a laning item in order to buy it?

Well it's an item that smites so they can just smite minions while they lane.

to circumvent this I figured it can only gain charges by killing jungle creeps. I also figured the support needs gold via a spelltheifs, coin, or targons so it wouldn't be the most cost efficient thing to buy on a laner.

or it could theoretically be locked out if you have a gold income item in your inventory.

Personally I think the full jungle items need to be changed from the scaled down versions of regular items to a bunch of Dark Harvest sort of items. Have one give mana regen that has AP for champ / large monster kills, one give CDR that gives AD for champ / large monster kills, one give atk speed that deals %health damage based on how many champ / large monster kills, one give bonus health that grants an active shield to yourself or a teammate who's strength is determined by champ / large monster kills.

Yes i copy-pasted champ / large monster kills alot to make sure i didn't lose anybody.

A gank centric feast-or-famine jungle results in the current sort of meta, where junglers already catch a lot of flack for being aggressive sharks which mercilessly torment laners.

Well like, the way junglers are "supposed" to gank is by farming the jungle until an enemy has shoved the lane too far, then they come in and either drain summoners or get the kill. Besides you could be a gank heavy jungler or a counter jungler depending on how well the rest of your team is doing. Laners should be diligent in understanding where their jungler was last seen and by warding appropriately. The way I see it a jungler should net a kill for the laners and by giving them a jungle item that scales with being near a death would incentivise allowing the laner to get the last hit seeing as how they wouldn't lose momentum by not getting the extra gold. I just think the current jungle items are a bit of a waste of a slot and getting rid of them in the end game wastes your summoner spell.

Especially for Lee Sin now that tracker's knife is gone and his entire world is shattered.
