[OPINION] What if Yorick Q spawned his Ghouls immediately instead?

Hi there,

First of all. let me state that i am NOT a Yorick main.

But since his rework, and i assume some balance changes, Yorick has once again fallen off.

Not many people play him or pick him, and I think he could use a buff or two to stabilize again.

The problem I find is that, Yorick is very dependent on his ghouls and can't do much until level 6.

What if his Q just immediately Spawned a ghoul instead of waiting for 3-4 to be available, to activate the spawn? OR Lower the minimum before he can proc his activation, 2 graves instead of minimum 3 to spawn? AND/OR Passive changed to 10th/7th/4 thnon-champion enemy killed nearby spawns a grave instead from 12/8/4 (I don't believe this procs reliably enough) currently he has to wait for 2 waves before he gets a free grave,

This is just my opinion.

The problem with his ghouls is that they die when the enemy breathes on them, so they're very volatile. Insta-spawning them won't change the fact that they're basically useless outside of pushing, and it removes the strategic play of grave positioning by last hitting specific minions.

I could stand to see more durable ghouls at the expense of their dps, otherwise his kit suffers from being kind of bland. Like most split-pushing kits.

Well, first of all, that may not be a buff.

It's a lot easier to kill things one by one than all at once.

Second, he's supposed to be more niche than generalist.

He's actually quite fine right now. Dumbasses Yasuo/Lee Sin mai- I mean, players aren't used to his playstye which doesn't involves dashes & such. Typically speaking, his kit is quite chore-ish.

As a yorick player, I know how helpful the ghouls can be, but I also know they can be quite a chore, after the job is done they can ruin lasthitting, shove waves, and overall be a nuisance. I personally think he's "fine" right now.

Voted hes fine right now bc I don't like the change your adding to him. If the change was target choice or ai to priorise champions then i'd say yes. Currently after raising the ghouls they attack randomly till yorick does something else. I think if an enemy champion is within 500 units they should charge the champion instead of the minion wave, and draw minion agro.

or remove the ghoul limit, id like to see how op that would be, prob funny as hell for awhile. but hey I liked the old yorick

One of the biggest reasons old yorick was oppressive was because of his infinite ghouls that he could spam one or 2 at a time. Having a 4 grave minimum makes it less frustrating to play against, as it give some time between the waves of minions

I only want a few things for Yorick.

  • Make him begin the game with his passive fully primed (Next minion death will make a grave).
  • Make him revive from death with his passive fully primed.
  • Make the Maiden of the Mists regenerate health while not in combat with champions (Like Daisy). Maybe make her attack drain health from the target.

With those, I'd be solid.

I'd prefer some AI improvements so that the ghouls don't need you to constantly pick their targets to keep them relevant in a fight and to keep the maiden from suiciding herself on towers when there's no minions around.
