Riven at 52% winrate. highest playrate at top lane

now that is all and fine. we know how much work riven mains put in to learn the combos and animation canceling. until you notice that she has the highest playrate of all top laners at 10%.

currently if you actually have played top. most top laners. melee especially can't really do anything against her. she can one combo tanks at level 6 . or really if she has cleaver and you finish a tank item. she can still one combo tanks.

she can chunk half your hp at level 1 if you have the audacity to step up and try to cs. it doesn't matter which keystone she takes. fervor or tld they both do similar work early game.

it seems also like riven's winrate goes higher the longer the game goes. I have noticed that for a while now. personally think her numbers alone are quite ridiculous. you can actually do the math of how much a riven combo does. hell even without the ult it does more dps and burst than any full ult combo of any top laner.

I'd actually want to see a good reasoning of how one of the highest skill cap and probably the highest skill floor champion is at 52% winrate with highest playrate top lane.

its pretty damn near impossible for most top laners to deal with her. and shes not easy to gank.

am just trying to figure out a justification to these numbers that doesn't lead to riven being overtuned.

but you know shes probably not op shes perfectly balanced and whatever her mains are going to say (which is an opinion supported by nothing) is more convincing than my case.

I think its fine for a champion to have 52 percent winrate. or even higher. if annie has 53=54 percent winrate. I wouldn't care. shes easy and effective.

the other day I was playing lee jungle. enemy had riven jg. she was 6 I was 5. she was in bush. comboed me.

I died in 1.6 seconds. I believe all she had was a long sword and maybe just the jungle healing item. nobody in this game ever killed me from full hp in 1.6 seconds (granted a level higher though I used W so the hp would be comparable to a level 6 lee sin) with just a long sword worth of stats. in 5000 league of legend games. I never seen anything close to that. neither in my game or anyone elses. she had no ignite. I just died in 1.6 seconds and I didn't even get to flash lol.

Riven is one of the hardest champions in the game. arguably harder than yasuo, zed and comparable to azir that every time he reaches 50% winrate hes pretty much overtuned. even though I think azir is easier as you just have to get used to his W and not learn much combos or anything as complex as animation canceling.

Just to put my two cents in, a full Riven combo in that situation more than likely would kill most champs caught out and surprised. If she utilizes it properly she can keep you stunned for just as long as the combo lasts if performed properly.

If you were six you could have easily just kicked her away as well, but that's a moot point.

My opinion on Riven's overall win rate is pure and simply, Death's Dance. The item is grossly over-tuned and combining that with Fervor on Riven's kit is just too good and scales extremely well into the game.

Its the itemization changes, riven used to be weak to sunfire cape tanks, as in unable to kill them or duel them till lategame, when her scaling kicked in which was always one of the best for a bruiser/ assasin hybrid. But then sunfire nerf, coupled with deaths dance buffs, means that she can duel and kill them way earlier than she used to. Like basically she lifesteal back all your damage, and you cant burst her because of the damage mitigation from dd, and shield spam. Basically the moment I saw deaths dance, and ga changes on patch notes I knew that Riven players will get a boner.
