Is S rank on supports super easy to get?

I've lost track of how many S rank games I've had as Lux support. I've had very few on any other champion. Now:

  1. I do main Lux support. I have 120k mastery points on this champion, almost three times as many as I have on my next champion.
  2. I'm Silver 2 right now, having climbed up from the Bronze 3 I got in promotionals. I did do the bulk of this on Lux support.
  3. Many of my games, I end up with a high kill to assist ratio. I have 10 games as Lux showing in my Match History page. Almost all of these matches, I have scores like 10/5/17, 7/2/10, 12/7/35 (that was a 43 minute game), and 8/8/20. I rarely have games like my 3/2/10 and 4/3/12 games. This is because I often end up getting kills in lane early that my marksman lane partner can't reach, either at 6 with my ult or just because I get item 3009 before item 2049 and have the movespeed to catch them.

Is it just super easy to get S rank on supports? Is it just easy to get it in Silver in general? Or does this mean I'll probably break into Gold soon?

Honestly, I'd imagine Lux would be one of the easier supports to S-rank.

She is a champion used by many players who have to support but don't want to (i.e. autofilled). As such, many of them will just take her and build full damage (often not even warding), dragging her average performance down.

If you are willing to ward with her, that alone is probably enough to significantly improve your ranking.

If you play something really rare and do well (e.g. an off-meta pick like Lux support), then you are going to get S ranks much more easily. Bear in mind that your ranking is based on how your performance compares to the average player.

Back before the new champion select, it was also easier to get S rank as a support if you were good, because most people playing support didn't want to and weren't that good at it as a result, which lowered the average.

So steal kills from your adc's to get S's as support...... doesn't make sense

I think wards count, if you clear a lot or keep a pink down it does affect your grade from what I can tell, nami is the S farmer support for sure. S+ Janna was the hardest probably.

I feel like the system is the same as any other role, just that kills count for less.

e.g:

went 1/2/26 on thresh, got an A

went 9/2/7 on ashe, got an S [zombie-brand-clap] gg rito, gg

If you don't die and collect a lot of assists, then yes.

Though S+ is another question, but S- alone is not that hard.

For lux a 30 to 40 minute game like 4/6/29 with over 100 cs can probably cover up the fact of an S rank as support

I've gotten so many S grades as support Nami that I've lost count. My last game as her I went 5/0/19 and got an S+.
