This is my last match I played. I was Jarvan IV top against Mundo. I'll admit I'm silver and thus suck at League, but this is a ranked match, so all ten players are silver and suck relatively equally.

I outplayed Mundo at every turn. Every time he tower dove me to kill me, I got a kill back on him. I even got a double kill 1v2 when Mundo and Yi dove me. I was 4/3/0 at the end of laning phase.

(Now, our Zed and Kindred gave up a kill each to Mundo, so he was 5/2.)

I built for him. I had only my boots and my Vampiric Scepter when I picked up Executioner's. We got some more kills and pushed down some lanes. We had a 6k gold lead at 19:00. Their team was in shambles and flaming each other. One of their team members even said "report Quinn for intentional feeding". I figured it was a foregone conclusion that we would win.

Here comes Mundo. We focus him, and the carries kill us. We don't focus him, and he gets a triple kill. I try to isolate him under my laser tower while we're both full health. He gets me low under my own tower. I ult him to keep him in the laser even after I die. I still die, and after tanking the tower for a full fifteen seconds, he walks back out and heals back up as if nothing happened. And all this time I'd been hitting him and applying the Grievous Wounds debuff.

Because of my Mortal Reminder, when we focus him, we are still able to kill him. But they have a Yi, Nidalee and Quinn pouring the damage out. Since it takes all of our ults and spells and auto attacks to bring Mundo down, their carries are able to shred us. Towers don't get strong enough to cut through him even when he's fighting a bruiser with a Mortal Reminder under it.

This is just ridiculous. Do something.

Here is the thing J4. You shouldn't;t have started Cull, you either go Long Sword or flask against mundo since the only chance you get to beat him is pre 6 while he is still weak. You shoudl have poked him and force him out of lane (or kill him) before he is able to sustain forever. Second, kill him back every time he dove you doesn't help you, it helps mundo, J4 tends to decay late game since most of his damage decay and he isn't that much tanky on base stats alone, you should asked Jinx to get a executioner call after her phantom dancer (she should have gone shiv over dance since she was ahead but whatever) and you should have gone tanky. I would have started item 3156 to be completely honest since most of mundo damage come from either his clever or his burning agony which are both magic damage. Besides you get that nice armor pen to kill him early and some ad

All tanks are stupidly broken... This isnt adc meta, this is basically cinderhulk meta all over again just that item 3742 is the new cinderhulk lol.

nope. not all tanks are. mudno is just one of few. the other one that I can prolly name is volibear. basically ones with sustain. really hard to mess with. the other day a mundo was surviving my entire team and he was going to full hp. and I had morellos . he was literally healing faster than we could do damage. he killed 3 people under the turret. almost a minute and he lost 10% of his health.

but volibeat is not really broken hes just really stupid to play against top lane.

nunu is broken.

The lost was also due to a bad comp. 4 AD and 1 AP sup meaning little magic damage goes out. Of course he tanked you guys he just needed to build armor, while you as your team front line built damage then balanced on resistances. Which you had to do because of the team comp.

This match was over at champion select they just had to steam roll you early or survive until they reached late game.

Mundo has enough sustain to shrug off any ap burst with hp and regen only.

Not really, if you really did shut him down in lane like OP'd claimed (or outplayed him as OP wrote). Any mage with a morello's would easily burst him down with his current build or at the very least take him in a team fight where he is being "focused". Malzahar Syndra Ryze or Swain would of been good choices. Because they stop him from doing his only job, running straight at your team effectively allowing your team to poke before you engage. Yes, it's a little unfair to play around his Ult, but it's not impossible.

Also same rule applies as any other match, mundo isn't the most mobile champ, so ward up wait for an enemy to over extend or see if an enemy is pushing another lane away from his teammate mobilize to either take and object or catch out the strangler. You can still comeback if you capitalize on your opponents mistakes

I didn't write anything about outplaying mundo, i am not op. I agree that 3 of 4 mages, that you stated, have great damage over time which will counter his sustain.

Oops sorry. meant to write OP.

that´s kind of a myth...mundo is very vulnerable to burst if you time it right as his reggen takes some time. So if you hit him hard the moment he activates his ult you can usually just kill him if he´s not really far ahead already. If you attempt to burst him 100-0 though he usually will just run away and reappear with full health 15sec later.

First off, Mundo out scales you. If you go even in lane, Mundo wins. You have to kill him or make him lose as much farm as possible.

Second, you rushed Swiftness Boots. Not sure why you did that since you probably needed AD instead so you could bully Mundo in lane.

Third, any high damage tank/high durability bruiser would have caused the same problems for your comp. Volibear, Olaf, Udyr, Sejuani, Trundle, Nasus, all of them would cause the same problems. They have the durability to make it difficult to kill them and the damage to make it easy for them to kill squishies, you needed someone that could tell them they can't go where they please and keep them off your carries long enough for you to kill their carries.

Heck, if you ulted Mundo in fights he would have been nearly useless. He has no flash so as long as the walls stand his only contribution is cleavers and making that his space. You could ult him and then flag-drag to cc Yi and get back into the fight. 3.5 seconds is enough time to kill their carries if Zed takes Soraka out quickly and once that is over you can spend quite a bit of time on killing Mundo properly.

I can understand if you can't do that tactic as you are also your teams only engage, which is another flaw in your comp. Your peeler is also your only engager and the enemy has stronger poke than you so you need to be the team to engage.

Your loss is not because Mundo is OP (which he is a bit), it is because your comp had a few flaws (low peel with low durability) that make it so Mundo could thrive against you.

not really the problem. Jarvan, you were against a team who got a tank AND sustain. Yours didn't have either (you should have build tank right after the executionner blade, you had 4 guys to make the damages, you didn't need to build damages too), that's why in teamfights,it didn't work that well.

You can't blame your loss on Mundo as a champion. Especially a silver Mundo who goes BF sword. Your first mistake was building cull, when you would have been much better of with pretty much any other item (cull is absolutely shit for anyone that isn't an adc, even then its a shit item), you then proceeded to rush enchanted swift boots. This is a huge mistake. You rush defensive/offensive stats that help you snowball your lane, not movement speed. And then you went with lifesteal and executioners. Yes, executioners gives grevious wounds, but with that build you will never get mundo low enough that he needs to ult. Next game go for a corrupting potion or dorans blade, Q poke until they're low enough to all in, ignite and kill. You have successfully won lane with the easiest rofl stomp champion in the game.

The dude was 23/6 and the rest of his team wasn't even close in comparison. Should have just wiped his mates out and dealt with him last. He doesn't have any peel anyway.

Also, you built a Marksman/Assassin item on a Fighter. That was a bad move on your call. You should be setting up fights for your team, not gearing up to 1v1 a fed Mundo.

I agree that Mundo needs a slight nerf, at least indirectly given his interaction with Grasp of the Undying, but I'd be more inclined to believe that this Mundo steamrolled you guys simply because he was playing better--especially if it is true that you started Cull and rushed boots of swiftness instead of itemizing to capitalze on Mundo's weak lane phase.

well, your setup really lacks cc + is full ad and apparently you didn´t push your advantage enough+your focus hadn´t been as great as you make it sound (as i donßt think most players in silver really use this term correctly/deal the dmg they could do, especially adcs)...also, as you indicated zed and kindred made him stronger than he needed to be. If Mundo doesn´t get a lead on you then he won´t be doing anything but dying. So blame your teamwork, not the champ (though his design sure has it´s flaws, but atm he´d need a rework to fix that, not a nerf).

not to mention that if i´d run J4 into mundo i take ignite so i have the level 2 killpressure.
