Has anyone else had any suspicious disconnections when playing the game?

so i was on a fat winstreak early this morning in ranked. Then during my promo matches i got d/ced and had to restart my router. then within 2 hours after failing my promos i queue up for another match ready to get back on that win streak my internet shuts off again.

Both times was at the very beginning of the match. now normally i wouldn't think anything of it but i left a bunch of tabs open with streams and took a 2 hour nap just now and my internet is perfectly fine.

anyone else noticing any strange disconnects in ranked?

There used to be times in the past where I legitimately think people DDOS'd me, but we're talking way long ago when Riot was far less good at cracking down at cheaters. I won't lie though, every now and again I'll start lagging right at the start of a fight when I'm carrying my team, die, and then within seconds my Internet goes back to normal. It's usually probably lag spikes but you can't help shake that feeling of "well maybe something is suspicious" sometimes.

because the game is running on a server instead of P2P every player has to be connected to it through gateways. It's possible the gateways run through problems and slowdowns during a match that causes packet loss for some players thus causing individual lags rather than the whole community.

Yes, my net works fine though, shows that I am connected but League claims it is trying to connect me. Happens most of the time in ARAM to me.

What is your ISP?

ISPs have virtually nothing to do with connectivity in league, especially in the case where everything else is working but league crashes like OP suggested.

Your ISP determines basically two things - are you connected to the internet or are you not, and total possible speed.

Other than that, virtually any and all connection issues have much more to do with your network card, your computer hardware, and Riot's servers.

Add "their routes to other servers on the internet" as a thing an ISP can cause. Many connection problems can be solved by a VPN since even though it adds a bit more latency, it forces your connection over a different route that might be less crappy.

I really get this alot nowadays, ranked only.

You're obviously getting DDoS'd by russian hackers. Its all a conspiracy to topple the American government.

I played three blind pick SR games in a row last night without problems. Then I decided to play one ranked solo queue game to end the night with, since I was warmed up. https://www.hiveworkshop.com/attachments/2018-01-31-png.290894/ This is the connection log for the game. Out of nowhere I get a massive ping spike (4000 ms) and it stays that way for a few seconds. Then everything stops moving, I disconnect and get hit by "Attempting to reconnect." Then after 20 seconds I reconnect... to 6000 ms ping. I issue a few movement commands, then I disconect again. I continue to alternate between 4-8k ping and complete disconnection for about 8 minutes. I felt so badly for my team because I had no idea what the issue was or how to fix it. It just resolved itself on its own. We lost and it was mostly my fault.

im starting to believe drop hacking is a thing again, but not as common as it use to be. A long time ago the entire league community became aware of players who were able to intentionally attack your internet connection and force you to d/c in a ranked match so they could win.

what leads me to believe this is its only happening in ranked, and a majority of the time it is when things are in my favor. my internet has never gone down while i was losing or in a close match with the enemy. only when i am at an extreme advantage.

The game was relatively even and my side was losing slightly. It didn't happen to anyone else on our team and I was not the strongest player (I was 0/1 with mediocre CS), so I don't know if I was drop hacked. It's a possibility though since I have no idea what else could have caused that spike.
