Surrender Modification
There are many games where people are forced to play in heavily disadvantaged situations. One of those frequent situations is if someone effectively leaves the game and forces his/her teammates to fight in those situations. Let's face it, there are trolls that want to screw over teammates, and there are those who have genuine situations that call for immediate attention. The latter has happened to me before, and it should be easy for everyone to prioritize a real-life situation over a virtual situation.
What i propose is a modification to the Surrender system. The problem that I have and I'm sure most other people have is that fact one can't surrender pre-20 minutes. Most of the time, I'm not upset at the person who AFKs or is absent, because they may have a real life problem occuring. The thing that upsets me most is that I'm effectively wasting 20 minutes of my time if we have a person who has been absent since the beginning of the game. If a team feels that they can not win with teammate(s) absent, there is no reason they should have to waste their time fighting in a game that's already been lost for 20 minutes. Within that time, I would have already started a game where I could possibly make up the lost LP from the last game in a more timely manner.
My suggestion is simply this: 1 Teammate Absent (for more than 3 minutes): the Surrender time is reduced to 15 minutes. 2 or more Teammates Absent (for more than 3 minutes): the surrender time is reduced to 10 minutes.
There's no point in drawing out a game that is already significantly demoralizing and pointless for the affected team.
