they did buff karma but it was a CDR buff not damage. Her mantra Q has always had a 1 to 1 ratio with AP built so it hits like a truck especially if she runs AP runes

Nothing new, she has really stupid frontloaded damage on her RQ and always had. The trick is not standing still so you get hit by all three parts of the spell.

Incidentally the cooldown is reduced by about 15 seconds when she nails you and a support with it like that.

Make no mistake; in the hands of an expert, Karma is absolutely terrifying.

Nothing out of the ordinary here. Shes always had scary as hell early damage. If you disrespect her shell just spew all of her combo and damage onto you, then that should be pretty much to drive you out of lane all on its own.
