Tips to help you not tilt your own teammates

Honestly, tilt can happen so easily it's not a joke. You miss that cannon minion, the enemy levels up mid fight getting level 6 first, you die first blood, you get your blue/red buff stolen by the Shaco and so on.

With so many levels of tilting and so many ways to tilt, it's good to know of a few ways to really help your teammates out.

Tip #1, Check to see if your teammate has any champions highlighted.

The quickest way to tilt an ally is this. They want to play a certain champion and you just banned the Katarina. Little did you know, your mid laner had Katarina highlighted and now? They're going to think you did it on purpose. Now, they're on tilt and your chances of winning have lowered. Simply check before you ban and a lot more people will rage less at champ select.

Tip #2, First blood deaths are tilting, teammates that flame are even worse.

Everyone dies first blood. Everyone. Someone is going to get first blood. It's just how the game goes. And when it's YOU that gives first blood, it's a god awful feeling knowing you gave that much gold to the enemy team. So, typing GG in /all chat is only going to make it that much worse. If first blood happens, just let the game continue and try not to tilt your teammate anymore than they probably are.

Tip #3, Pings are for warning not flaming.

One of the most tilting things a teammate can do to you is ping spam over you when you don't do something they like, or when you die. There was one game where I was just doing awful as the jungler and one of my teammates kept spamming the ? on me every time I failed a gank or died. And when I asked them to stop, they only spammed it even more. It was just so infuriating that I simply couldn't deal with it anymore and (after informing /all chat that I was being harassed) I left.

You can't mute pings. (yet) And knowing that someone is doing it JUST to piss you off, especially when you ask them nicely to stop, is just enough to make you leave the game and never come back. Please, even if your teammate is going 0/5, your pings are only going to make them feel worse than they do.

Tip #4, Understanding the raging teammate.

Rage happens. Everyone does it. Pros do it. Streamers do it. You do it. I do it. Sometimes you just have the worst game ever and you just have nothing to do. You can't make the moment stop. You can't make the situation better. And you can't leave your game. So, sometimes you just let your anger out in chat. You're a rumble. You're up against an Olaf. You have the kill, but you mess up one button press and die first blood. Then as you TP back into lane, you get ganked and flash. Then after a few seconds, you get ganked by the mid laner and die. Then you come back, the Olaf and jungler turret dive you. Now you're useless. You can't farm under turret. You can't roam. You can't ask for help. Everytime you come back into lane, you get dove on. 10 minutes in and you're 0/6 and your teammates are letting you know you're doing badly. If you can understand how that is a god awful position to be in, you can perhaps understand why the 0/6 top laner is losing their mind.

Tip #5, Bacon.

Seriously. If there is a teammate that's just on tilt and you simply can't do anything else to help them? Talk to them about bacon. Offer them bacon. Show them this picture http://i.imgur.com/USOcQfF.jpg The desire and the dream of bacon will soothe even the most savage of beasts.

I hope these tips help you guys out.

If you talk to me about bacon in a game, I'll be tilted because I don't have any bacon with me. Which may lead to me AFKing to go get bacon.
