Varus W active is weird

The active turns itself off after ~5 seconds if you don't use your Q. It acts like a toggle so it should just stay on until you use a Q or turn it off.

If it was a genuine toggle-able ability, then it would give Varus too much power with little drawbacks. Having it put on a 5-sec duration provides players with a window they can keep their distance from, and prevents Varus from holding onto an empowered shot for until he can easily put the hurt on someone with it.

When you activate Blighted Quiver, you should want to use it, not hold onto it. You should be ready to start up and fire off that arrow, or suffer the (small) setback of wasting an empowered Piercing Arrow opportunity.

it doesn't go on cooldown after the duration it just turns off the ability.

I didn't say it goes on cooldown, (although it does go on a 1-sec cooldown if you just hold onto it) I just said that holding onto it for too long will end up in a missed opportunity.

His W active is so fun to use when you get 3 stacks of blight, pta and coup de grace bonus dmg. Makes his empowered q such a satisfying execution spell. :^)
