Seriously Riot, fix your god damn hitboxes
Do I seriously have to permaban Blitzcrank because the hitboxes are fucked up?

Don't forget Lux, Morgana, Jhin, Jinx, Nautilus, and Thresh.
Mmm. Hitting the Ezreal hiding inside the minion wave with a corner hitbox clip with the Morg Q that according to visuals should have 100% gotten minion blocked so he didn't even E away. Priceless.
Aatrox and his stupid HP chunking Q that is confusing to dodge to begin with before the hitbox even comes into play.

While I agree with you that Blitz's Q hitbox is complete bullshit... There's hitboxes that are a LOT worse than Blitz.

It's fun being outplayed by a hitbox isn't it?

Jhin's W is the worst one, followed up by Lux' R
At least they fixed Gragas E. That was awful lol

Oh god yes.
Don't remind me xD
Ah yes the old belly bump that could actually be a rump bump. Seriously it had priority over just about everything in the game and would hit first.
am I the only one that think pykes r hitbox is kinda off
It hits when it should not and misses when it should hit. Strange thing.
What is your ping? Cuz i never had problems with any of those.
This thing
is broken though.

Lux's is so weird Enemies around dead center I have hit, but its odd when its not. Sometimes I hit them and others I dont, and same thing being on the other side sometimes I feel like I dodged it and I was hit and others I feel like I didnt dodge and I did. So weird. Morganna Q Is literally like tracking sometime.
That’s how line skillshots work. It’s called “lollypopping”, and it’s to not make it as difficult to hit line skillshots in the game plain.
At the edge of the skillshot, it bulges out into a circle and finds a target to lock on to.

That's a lazy way to code them in my opinion.
Line skillshots like hooks should be exactly that, line skillshot.
They shouldn't "Lollipop".
They either hit or they don't.
TIL hooking from max range is always best
why are you getting downvoted lmao, you're just stating facts
Blitzcrank's hook is not anything special. Every skillshot is randomly visually incorrect. It's been this way for a very long time if not since the beginning. Maybe one day they will fix it.
It doesn't have anything to do with the hitboxes. I would argue Morgana and Thresh and such are more blatant problem champs to deal with because their abilities are slower and therefore it's even more irritating when their skills don't go the angle they are pretending to. Every champ's skillshots can visually hit a target but actually miss them, just as they can visually miss a target but still hit them. I'm not sure how often it happens in an average game but I know it happens more often at certain angle ranges.
The skillshots definitely go to where they are targeted. The biggest issue I see with players who would ever claim otherwise with their own projectiles are those that would intentionally or accidentally click on a moving target instead of on the ground.
Why do you think people hate Zoe so much? Visually inaccurate skillshots. I'm not joking. It's not her kit that's frustrating, it's the randomness/inconsistency in visual display inaccuracy.
TL;DR it's not a champion-specific problem. It happens to everyone. It's only frustrating for the opponents of the visually inaccurate abilities, but everyone sees the visual inaccuracy when it happens. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens every game for sure, so that Riot should be trying to fix it by now.
Funny how they gave
the crispest hit box in the game to the point where being half in the box isnt enough to take damage.
Used to be even worse. Remember the nid spears? those things wouldn't just miss you'd, they'd go halfway past your champ before suddenly just hitting for no reason.

Yeah, and more often than not they went invisible
Few hitbox issues, when thresh somehow always hits you with the q even if you flash sometimes. and, when kai'sa's w phases through dragons sometimes.... it happened to me when playing her, it went through the elder dragon and stole my teammate's penta ._.
If you just make the animation larger so that it really feels like you got hit by the skillshot there isn't going to be much difference. Because when you can visually see that blitzcranks hand is on your champion it's already too late anyways
But if you make the hitbox smaller to match the visual animation that would be a HUGE nerf. You'd utterly destroy the champion. Blitzcrank is not op, his winrate is just slightly above 50%. If his pull hitbox is made significantly smaller his winrate would drop below way below ryze, because his pull is everything his kit revolves arround.
So yes you have to ban blitz every game if you are not good enough to dodge his pulls often enough. Cause riot isn't going to nerf a champion into an unplayable state for no reason
I do agree that jhin'w and lux ult can have a very strange hitbox that doesn't match up with the visual indicator if fired from a certain angle. And riot should definetly fix this. But other than that, no need to do anything.

this for the most part hitboxes are fine.. the biggest two inconsistencies are exactly the two u listed
W has a visual about 1/3 the size of the hitbox
while
ulti just seems to act weird at times
i mean its not that hard to to just play a custom game with said champion and press the ability to see the visual line indicator of the skillshot hotbox
as for things like
hook. the reason it "latches" to you n a different spot is becuase the animation of the skillhot and that colliding is completely replaced with a new animation which is centered from the middle of the targets hitbox
it is entirely possible that your champion model (which nearly ALWAYS extends past said champion, (and when moving most champions visually learn forward while this does not move thier hitbox) plus the fact that skillshot like champions ussally have a wider hitbox than the visual.
it is VERY possible for the two hitboxes to collide edge to edge when it may not look like you got hit.. and if this happens on a target where it is a hook and a new animation is drawn when u are hit... that animation is goign to br from the center of your model.
its really NOT something that is wrong... thats how games are coded.. its quite simple...
there is nothing wrong with it...
as a player u just need to learn that the visuals will NOT match the skillshots, and that you champion may visually lean one direction while moving but the center of thier hitbox is still in the middle..

Anyone who thinks it isn't a problem is lying to themselves.
Thresh has... Interesting shape for his hook. In form of letter r. So its a lot wider on one side.
Screen with blitz is just a clean hit.
So yea there is no problem.

Did you just say that was a clean hit? Man, Jhin must have put on some weight. Also, both of their hooks spread out at the end of the reach. HOWEVER, that hitbox doesn't match the animation.

He got hooked from that distance.
Here is more:

Also he can do this even if you are behind minions, which the animation should show.
on shen its more or less legit hit, you might think otherwise cuz the way shen walks gives wrong impression of his position (he is almost bending)
But on mf yea that was some broken shit. Could it be that her boobs give her really massive hitbox? XD
Look at the shadows. There is no Y axis in League, all skillshots travel along the ground, which is why it looks off from certain angles. Only way they could make this look more right would be to intentionally offset hitboxes if they're at an angle so they match the visuals better, but then it would feel weird when aiming.

One blitzcrank skin goes straight with the hook.
His normal skin is curved.
Thresh has two shadows.
You really going to defend this?

Yes there is? Haven't you seen those Bard flying videos? Where he enters a tunnel, gets CC'd then flys into the air? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxTuJn8CdC4
The problem is most likely that the code has to be bitmap based, even at a HD scale. If even one pixel overlaps it hits.
Also, don't forget there's a bit of a lag time in deciding targeting due to the nature of the game and the players not necessarily being equidistant from each other. In othet words: If a Morgana q is fired at 10:01:04.999 and is coded to have a travel time of 1 unit per sec, and your champ is 3 units away, even if you move during that time, if 3 secs later you were SUPPOSED to be hit according to the coding, you get hit. The game has to go off of coded response rather than video, while the players are the opposite. Unless you happen to be Faker and can pull off some Matrix-level BSery.
While I agree, Riot wants his hit box screwed up like it is. They've said it in the past to show the fact that it's an arm he fires from the side of him despite the actual visual tells. Indie company Riot strikes again!
Hitboxes are fine. The only time you really see an issue is with vertical height, which has nothing to do with hitboxes.
Older thread, but I googled this subject after watching TSM vs TL and dont feel like making a new post lol... IF this isnt a clear example of this garbage hit box, idk what is. Corejj getting hosed by this system last weekend.
I've been hit my melee and killed by them after Ive landed far, far away with 2xW on leblanc or just Flash. Like, flee from a fight -> flash -> land and walk for half a second -> die to Tryndamere spinning around 100 yards away
