Mid lane assassins don't get picked in pro play because they're useless from behind.

Assassins don't have utility, they don't have waveclear, and in the case of Zed and Talon, they tend to make your comp all AD. All they do is kill people. So how does nerfing mage mana fix any of those problems?

A lot of assassins like to snowball. But if the LCS games are any indication, good players are good at NOT dying to dumb things. Makes snowballing harder.

Oddly enough, I've been seeing Draven getting picked a few times in it.

Draven is picked because he excels in a safe environment. The less he dies, the more gold he gets on his next kill (bc adoration stacks).

When all that happens is you make short pokey trades instead all-ins, draven can focus on stacking adoration without having to worry about aggro. He makes perfect sense as a strong pick in LCS, where playstyles tend towards extreme turtle strategies.
