and a Caitlyn shredded me.
I can understand a Kog'Maw or a Vayne, but wtf has this come to holy shit

Well for a start, you're Renekton.
Ignoring your ult (which is flat value anyway), you don't exactly hyper scale yourself. A non hyper scaling ADC shredding a non hyper scaling Fighter sounds about right, to be frank.
I remember when you actually had to have a point, maybe even a video, for a thread to get any upvotes.
Now, you can make an unsustained whine claim about how you did a thing and still lost.
10s does not qualify as being shredded.
That is a rough estimate, it takes a full build Cait ~14s to kill that Rene without factoring in her passive. Figure her passive would cut 4-5S off of that time, but it is more effort to include her passive than I care to put forth.
Also, your thornmail lowers her HP by 1300 (after accounting for lifesteal from a BT, and 50 MR on Cait)
As a melee you have to stick to your target to deal damage. Right now kiting is very, very strong, so champions who cannot deal with being kited need to roam alongside teammates.
21/9 im assuming? It is still really really dumb don't get me wrong, but I imagine at 9/21 with things like reduced crit dmg and such you would fair better. I don't like to build more than 1 of each resist on Renny, but tahts just me. MOAR DMG!

I feel like this is because you can't build as much health as you used to be able to, and with the standard adc rush being IE...
the highest range adc shreded someone who specializes in close combat? such a surprise. but seriously, the only thing a adc needs to do that is last whisper, also as you can remember alot of the adc items got much stronger last season. i don't play caitlyn but i've heard that compared to other adc she gets outscaled.
Same, a recent match of mine with Rek'sai, I had at least two hard armor items and a Caitlyn absolutely destroyed me at full build both level 18 and I got the drop on her. Cait is kinda ridiculous.
