I played as Tryn top the other day and was just wondering am I bad with tyrn or did this pantheon(which went ap btw) just a god with panth or does ap panth straight up hard counter Tryn? I would really love some helpful advice because I went in to this match up thinking I was gonna snowball it hard. Maybe that was my mistake.
How does one fight AP panth as tryn? How do you keep up with his roaming potential?

What are your runes?
What was your build and in what order?
What ability did you max first second and third?
Well GA rush is really questionable on anyone, even when you're behind. Against an AP panth, hexdrinker wouldn't be a bad idea. BV or SV might even be good if he's just so ahead that you don't think building damage will help you anymore.
I did rush the GA. At the point in the game when panth started to become uncontrolable I wasn't to sure on what else to do. I also started trying to Max Q first to the lane sustain but it was enough the nukes were real. All though I didn't think about hex drinker maybe this would of been a pretty good option. For my runes I did Atk damage quints/ armor seals(I thought panth was going AD.)/Scaling MR blues and Ad marks. It was truly a frustrating match-up.
Doesn't Pantheon counter Trynd?
Well Pantheon does have a 1.0 AP scaling on his W, and his kit does seriously jack with Trynd. But you only died four times. That means Panth picked up eight more kills off your team. So the blame there is not solely at your feet.
Lich Bane is a strong item on Panth for a few reasons
It looks like he got snowball-y off of you and Malz, and no one had the appropriate response to his build. Your single biggest mistake though was trying to rush GA. You really, really should have started working on getting a Blade of the Ruined King first.
