Comp Determines Games Almost As Much As Players

Champ select is half the game. They need to massively buff the skill element because it's just BS right now how much influence picks have. I just get random Ryze tops and garbage like that. The game is already super hard, add a Shaco JG vs a Gragas and a Kai'Sa vs an Ezreal, gg. Comps make a huge difference and so do picks. I feel that the skill element or something else needs to be massively increased so you don't feel games are nearly over at champ select. Or, allow us to dodge more. Maybe a 15 minute timer max. I play out a bunch of games and even made a list of what I thought about the comps before etc.

Comps matter more than even 100 MMR from my experience. If you add a few clueless players who are off role or on champs they don't play, games are just done before they start. Individual ability to change that is minimal in those situations unless maybe you're an ADC main or something like that. If you just pick normal champs, it's over. You're doomed to just climb slowly and autolose a bunch of games like this. Don't get me wrong though, you will EVENTUALLY get where you belong but it may well take 200 games instead of 100 if you were a Shaco or Kha player etc. This is a huge problem in low gold and under especially because people just pick such garbage and don't even know what they're doing with it. In high gold, players start to make more sense and comps become less shit by virtue of it so this problem is reduced and you matter more as an individual. However, it's pretty cancerous to play low ELO when you want to climb quickly... feels so randomized. "oh, we got the 3 time 3/6/5 Trynd picking into Malphite" hmm.. but I already dodged a game... plays it out conclusion: totally useless Tryndamere rushing Bersker's, autolosing teamfights, no split pressure, no teamfight usefulness... feels like he had agency in the game

Lag determines even more.

champions are a large part of the game, but elo is everything. You should trust that any player above plat can carry any game with his mains, whethere they r meta or op or not. therefore technically skills bigger then champs.

However what you say is true at higher elos, hence high elo players dodging when they get bad compositions

For majority of the playerbase no, skill > champion
