Shields shouldn't stack or scale with a main stat, pick 1 not both.

Just my thoughts when i think about Orianna Karma item 3190+ the rune+ the item 3107 being in the same team.

Well, we have two roads here.

  1. Shields can ONLY stack, so they don't scale off of anything.

Orianna can only shield for 75 damage, Karma can only shield for 150 damage, and the carry they shield immediately dies to the enemy Teemo's single mushroom with Liandry's and Void Staff.

  1. Shields can ONLY scale, meaning that like slows only the most recent applies.

You get the shield pop from Sterak's Gage, only for an Orianna E to immediately destroy that juicy 75% max health shield.

You use Tahm's E to shield himself for 3 seconds, but he can't use Locket to protect his carry because it will delete his shield.

Neither of these options are advantageous and will only serve to hurt the game.

if shields can't stack then they'll have to time their shields. If oriana shields and it's broken by an attack then karma shields and they take turns to shields reducing the abuse. IF tham uses locket while he has his shield up obviously the bigger shield stays ( his ) and the surrounding allies get the locket shield. How the hell will the locket overwrite a stronger shield if it works like the slows? In turn tham can also save the locket for when his shield falls below the lockets thresh hold and then replace his shield with the lockets shield as at that point be stronger. Much better than mindless shield stacking.

Ashe's slow for example overwrites itself.

If she gets a pseudocrit and slows somebody for 45% for 2 seconds, if she attacks them again and her newer attack isn't a pseudocrit, it undoes the 45% slow and applies a 20% slow instead.

Slows used to stack with each other, but that was changed when Riot saw people exploiting Zilean + Nasus + Karthus slows to essentially stun people for 7 seconds at a time. Now only either the most recent or the strongest slow applies, and which one is one is which is often unclear.

Knowing Riot's penchant for coding spaghetti I certainly wouldn't want non-stacking shields. It would only make 7-Shield Janna even worse to deal with.

Rather than preventing a huge amount of burst, it would simply keep her carry alive for 10 seconds, which is more than enough time to kill anybody who isnt tryndamere in the lategame.

Long story short it would only benefit certain champions and basically make every other shield in the game worthless.
