can someone explain to me why Qiyana's W just becomes uncastable

I pull an element, dash on an enemy, use Q. I try to pull another element to reset Q, and nothing. I click and click and click and click and nothing happens. no cast, no Q reset

I jump into a fight and after a few seconds i need to back out. Running from an enemy and i hit W to dash away from them, and NOTHING i click and click and click and click and nothing happens. no cast, no dash, i just die

there's no cd indicator on my hud, my w is not grayed out in any way, and nowhere in the text can i find anything that says my dash is prevented

this happens constantly and consistently across my Qiyana games
