How is Sion Top ATM?

I've been thinking of picking him up. Top lane I main Wukong. The rest of my roster consist with Garen (always banned hence my dilemna), Aatrox, Malphite, Galio, Cho'gath and Malphite. (an occasional Jayce)

So the niche I'm thinking Sion can fill would be one similar to Cho'gath. If I feel my team just needs a dedicated tank I already have 4 options, Heavy AP? Go Galio, Heavy AD? Go Malphite, Heavy Dive/Assassins? Go Cho'gath. Issues I have with Galio and Malphite is I almost always lose lane I them mainly due to their mana issues it's hard to scrap with them until they get items. Now Cho'gath is a great safe pick that can scrap it out with most top laners, however the fact that he can't engage is what annoys me.

Sion always seemed like one of the best brawlers for a top laner, even able to go toe to toe with the likes of Darius.
