Why is everything so complex nowadays?

Feels like all the new champion's that come out are difficult to use for new players, and the game's gotten steadily more complex making it harder to learn for new players as well. What's more, formerly simple champions get reworked to become complex it seems.

I wish we'd get a new champion that was simple to pick up and play for newbies. I know people will say Garen and Warwick and etc, but I feel the League could do with a string of easy to use beginner champions.
