whats the point of the "block" feature?

why do we get a "block" feature, if we can still get paired with those players again? if i just didn't wanna see what they had to say, i'd just mute them... if i block someone, it's because i never wanna see them in the game ever again..

Never being able to see the enemy player again would totally destroy high elo matchmaking integrity.

so? if they banned everyone but a few people, so they only got matched with/against those few people, everyone else in the game that they blocked would still be getting more actual practice, while they stagnated against the same few players. even if they used this to cheese into challenger or something, it wouldn't prove they're any good, and if that somehow did end up making them "go pro" once they were matched against real players, they'd lose immediately,, as for lower elo and climbing, it would just be nice to not get paired with/against common trolls/flamers/bot/scripters/angry little children, and actually be able to climb with the few players who take it seriously.

See, in a dream world this is what would happen. What would actually happen is people would start off using it only to not get paired up with the trolls, and it ends up "Oh, this player only plays one champion OR, oh, this player did something I don't like, blocked." With Challenger having so few players, it would skew the queue times even longer.

At low elo, people would use it for everything. Didn't do well a single game, clearly trolling, blocked, not picking meta, blocked, I just don't like you, blocked.

Sure, eventually you would end up with only players you want to play with...but then the queue balloons from a couple minutes to nearly an hour waiting for you AND all the players that said players you want didn't block ON TOP of the five on the opponent looking for players they didn't block to eventually all get into a game.

I don't think it would be that much of a problem. If challangers would use this system they know that they wkill get longer queue times. So you have to think "is it realy worth it?"

It wouldn't be at first, over time, it would become a huge problem.

No if they use it while they know it would restrict their number of opponents and make way longer queues it is their fault and so they have no right to complain.

i don't care about longer que times.. "longer que times" is the same argument riot uses to justify autofill.. i don't care about longer times, so long as i get the role i want and not have to play with/against people i don't like..

Blocking means they can't try to add you as a friend. That's it.
