Good Job Riot with the Rotating Game Modes

My friend and I are really enjoying playing Ascension again, spamming the mode over the past 10 games or so. It's gotten to the point where we're starting to get burned out of it...on Sunday which is exactly how long the game mode lasts. We're excited for Legend of the Poro King next week and especially URF following that.

Thanks once again, I have to give you a thumbs-up for the rotating game modes.

Edit: I wish it lasted for the entire Sunday though... JK, for some reason it wasn't showing up for me but ti's back now

Edit 2: People are making a very good point about people that have to work on weekends and how this schedule isn't fitting to their work schedule. Think it'd be very cool if perhaps Riot could extend the game modes to perhaps the week?

I wish it lasted longer, or was all week long because I typically work on the weekend, very long shifts especially. But oh well. Looking forward to URF mode though. :)

I do like the idea of the rotating modes, you get bored of one? Wait a bit and try another! It's a good idea I can't wait to try Hexakill or URF again! Have fun with your games! ( I suck at Ascension TuT otherwise I'd play it more)

My only issue with this system is that I work weekends. In fact, I imagine anyone who works in hospitality (bars, resturants, etc) and probably most of retail will find this timetable a little annoying. The idea of a 9-5, 5 days a week is woefully old fashioned - but I imagine (or hope) Riot used/analysis of their peak times and stuff to help choose the time they did.

Making it Friday-Monday would give me at least one day (at least some weeks - my days off are usually two of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

I kinda wish it was more a case of there always being a fun mode active and it just changes at the start of the weekend - but I guess the limited time window promotes quicker queues.

I don't see what's wrong with having rotating queue available for the whole week. Just because some people will get burned out and go back to Summoner's Rift doesn't mean it should be disabled for the people who won't. It's like only having one match at the LCS because most people will lose interest after that.

I think game modes should last the whole week since Friday-Sunday is just to short for game modes, especially ones that are very popular or demanded like URF. Some people have work or other important things they do on Weekends and it would suck if they missed out on them because it lasted so short. While some people have school/work Monday-Friday, so I feel the whole week would allow a chance for everyone to play the game mode. If you get burned out and bored then it's your own fault for spamming it non-stop for a week etc and can just go back to SR/Aram or something and go back to that game mode when it comes back around.

I think they said we'd be getting URF on the 22nd right? Which is next Friday, maybe since URF was such a popular/demanded game mode they would extend it to the Friday after so we'd get a week of it, since they said that they might extend game modes for the popular ones.

Riot said URF will appear twice this year but it will be for **3 days **at most totally of **6 days **this year

it used to be 2 weeks or **14 days **or even more Modes i enjoyed was URF and Doom Bots of Doom

whats the difference between killing the Baron and killing Xerath on Ascension?

They didn't really "do" anything, at this point. They are putting out old game modes because the terrible state if the game, so we aren't all gone in a few months.

I very much enjoyed Barding around the Crystal Scar and gluing people together. Nothing gets people to blindly follow you through a magical journey like a TDM mode!

I think it's dumb that they don't make it last all week. I'm not someone who necessarily has to worry about not being able to play much on weekends more than weekdays, but there are a lot of people who do have to worry and be disappointed because they can't play all weekend

They said they may make it permanent, or at least extend the time of each gamemode, depending on how popular the queue is but I don't get why they even need to see

People love taking breaks from norms or ranked to just have some fun playing a fun gamemode. I know I do. So I don't understand why it's not permanent

A weekend is also a nice amount of time as it prevents a "meta" from forming up too much. There was nothing quite 100% pick-or-ban and nothing that got you flamed for playing it. Seems it usually takes 4 or 5 days for that to happen. With only 3 there just isn't enough time.

On to Poro King next weekend.

The rotating game modes is cool, what is not so cool is how riot always uses this method to drown out dissent on changes the community hates, no idea why more people don't get more offended by being treated like a 1 year old child who is easily distracted to forget things with candy.

Mode is nice to have though even if its overdue by a few years.

As a person who just started at the end of S5, I love this idea. I get to try so many exclusive game modes so fast.

It's funny how all the Guardians of the Sands just so happen to be the best at Ascension.

I had fun playing Ascension again, too. I think there is an improvement they could make, however. Given that is was around for such a short duration, i did not get to play a single game with friends, yet had several games where I had teammates who hit S rank (which I helped them get on champions like Soraka, Thresh, and Braum and avoiding claiming the ascended buff or shurima relics). Given the short duration of the game modes, I think any teammate who achieves S rank should allow the possibility of a Hextech Chest drop, since, as Riot has stated, "Champ mastery has also been customized for each one of these modes." I think chest drops should be customized to reflect the limited duration of the rotating game modes as well, unless, of course, the duration of the game modes is increased.
