Riven into Fiora

What do i do in this matchup? From what i learned yesterday if she manages to riposite my 3rd Q or W I'm pretty much going to die or be dangerously low. I ended up losing the lane, with no ganks from my jungler despite frequent requests, (only gave her two kills and a tower), and resided to split pushing and farming golems when i had the chance to catchup. Proceeded to teamfight (mostly died but did contribute) and won the game whilst carried by my Bot lane. Yet i still want to know what exactly i need to rush/build an do against Fiora top because from what I've gathered, Fiora/Riven is a skill based matchup. Is this one of those hope your Jg actually ganks (Didnt get ganked despite asking frequently), or wait for her to make a mistake? Was my loss of lane due to both me and my jungler or just myself for getting stunned... o.O My first death was due to me counter-harrassing her with q-aa-q-aa (tried to bait out riposite and failed)-q (got stunned and ran like hell before she killed me. (i did actually catch up to her in both cs and total gold income through split pushing while she was busy roaming, but i never tried to go for round 3 with her) I never actually really fought her after that so I've no knowledge as to what to do when she ults me. I thought about rushing QSS but it seemed like a bad investment if i wanted to try to dominate the lane and trade with her. I, myself, actually did get ganked but nothing really happened. Anyways can i get some advice on Riven x Fiora? I'd really appreciate it as I'm trying to learn her matchups and how to play them out.

well riven beats fiora very early (like level 1 or 2) so just go aggro in the early stages and try and win a good trade also start with a long sword and 3 pots since fiora usally goes with the corrupting potion and u need the pots to keep up with her in substain U just need to bait her into using her riposhe and then you can outrade her by getting into position to W and then follow up with a qqq combo chaining AA's if you see her use her spells to wave clear of last hit thats your chance to go in if she ults you just use your ult and outduel her by keeping her cc locked

Alright thank you! I have been starting with those items but im not sure how im supposed to bait out her Riposite without losing damage from not using my last q.

well use your e and then double qq thatll put on some damage and then hold on to your last q and shell likely rip predicting the last q if that happend you can follow up with your lst q when her rip and done then AA then W

alternatively you can qq and then w her and if she used rip then e to the side and then when its over follow up with your last q

basically use your w to bait the rip not your last q

Try to bait out her W if at all possible, without it you should win trades fairly easily, use W for your own CC if she does have it up as it will give her less reaction time, keep in mind that she can cast W while moving with Q. Max Q first as you do need the damage, once you get 30% CDR this matchup gets a lot easier as you will be able to keep up with her Q dashes, max E second. Basically the trick is not to get mauled early and keep up in CS, if she doesn't snowball you will out scale her. You might want to take TP either to minimize the effect of deaths or to teleport gank other lanes, if you think you can duel her though go ahead and take ignite.

I actually start the game off with about 15% cdr for 10%cdr on runes and the extra 5% from my masteries. Is this a bad idea? So to get to 30(ish)% cdr i should Cleaver yes? Sorry for all the questions, but should i be expecting to outscale her around after about 2 items or what? And i have been taking TP a lot more on her lately because i dont want to rely on ignite too much. And thank you!

Cleaver is for tankier opponents like Poppy, You will usually want to go for a item 3133 and item 3158 to get the 30% CDR vs Fiora, then build some AD, I would run 5% flat and 5% scaling CDR but it's whatever you're more comfortable with. The 45% CDR is nice but you could also consider taking the precision mastery in this matchup since Fiora doesn't really stack armor and you will be dealing more damage in early trades but it's not a necessity.

item 3133 item 3158 item 3077 item 3133 item 3158 item 3134 item 3133 item 3158 item 1038 will usually be what you want to go for, though a trick I picked up from Boxbox a while ago is to work in a item 3067 as part of the build, it's a cheap way to get some quick CDR and has a high sell back ratio, so you can get it for an early boost in stats and then sell it later for a better item.
