Rito said ppl move on from games. I fully disagree and that statement makes me MAD.

So, during the 8.12 patch one of the Rito devs said and I quote, "people move on from games, its just the nature of videogames." I 150% disagree with that statement. Look at WoW, Smash Bros, Warcraft, Starcraft, FFX, FF12, borderlands, all of these classics.

These games didnt become classics because the game kept evolving to the point where the playerbase couldnt even recognize the game. These games had no need to evolve from release past BUG fixes. Oh no, they are classics becauise they give the people exactly what they wanted in a videogame.

Yet, you guys sit here and claim that you NEED to keep it fresh, that you NEED to keep it from stagnating. I say all you need to do is fix bugs. THAT will keep the game fresh enough along with your ALTNERNATE PLAY MODES. There literally is no reason for all this garbage (patch 8.12)

Now, also, this isnt about, "Oh wtf is this vladimir doing bot lane RIP META RAGE" No. Im fine with the game opening up for new picks, that is GOOD updates. What is bad is removing ADCs completely from the game. Whats bad is being warned by your playerbase, pro and noob alike that 8.12 was too much too fast and yall didnt listen.

Checking streams from twitch (because you guys refuse to release usage stats for your servers) You guys have lost at least 40,000 viewers, giving fortnite a literal 40,000 viewer avg MORE than league. Prime time has fortnite at over 3x leagues base.

This is proof you dun fucked up guys. ITs time to admit a mistake and move on to better things... Or watch everyone whos played league for years move on.

We didnt outgrow your game.

YOU quit listening and have done so for years.

People do move from games. People also become so attached to certain iterations of the game that they refuse acknowledge anything past that iteration or anything that isn't 100% like it. People also stick with games no matter how it changes.

There are all sorts of people and most do move on to other games until something brings them back to previous ones they used to enjoy. You can compare fortnite with league all you want. I see league still in the top 3 on twitch all the time, sometimes even beating fortnite. Freaking dota2 is also sometimes beating fortnite and league despite barely being a thing most of the time.

You can be mad all you want, doesn't change that what Riot said is a fact.

People don't move on from games, they move on from gaming companies.

Riot is strangling themselves with the current balance team One hand on the throat of the game. The other hand on the playerbase

Both hands are choking out what's left

I play this game since 8 years. And since two years i play ONLY this game!

"people move on from games" MY ASS

But I gotta say, the way things are right now, I'm thinking about quitting.

Look at WoW, Smash Bros, Warcraft, Starcraft, FFX, FF12, borderlands, all of these classics.

I mean, people have moved on form every single game you've listed. Fact is that it does happen.

What you're trying to argue is that these games still have a core audience, which is true! Just like League will have a few years down the line. That won't change. But these games are hardly the powerhouses they used to be. People still play them and they can still be popular but WoW mania died almost a decade ago. Starcraft hasn't seen the hype it ever had. etc etc etc.

League could have been balanced perfectly with every single rework/patch/addition being a perfect choice and it'd still lose players. That's the nature of life.

Patches 8.11 and 8.12 are probably the best patches of the season.

I still don't understand why people believe that ADCs have been removed from the game. Pro play still sees mostly marksmen bot lane and most marksmen still have respectable winrates and pickrates in normal play. ADCs not being mandatory anymore doesn't mean they are all suddenly garbage tier.

Also, Fortnite is still fresh which is why it has so many more views than League atm on Twitch. It was the same with Overwatch and the same with PUBG. After all the little kids get tired of Ninja and this boring Battle Royale stuff, Fortnite will go down past League. Clearly constantly being in the top 5 games (usually top 3) on Twitch is a sign that League is an awful game. Makes perfect sense.

Riot just cares WAY too much about professional play.

"people move on from games" doesn't mean "the entire playerbase eventually quits"

just because a game has a small fanatic playerbase doesn't mean it's mostly done. every game is going to have a fanatic playerbase. but, as a statistic, playerbases always decline after reaching a certain peak. league reached that peak in a past season.

People do move on from games just like they move on from certain food trends or fashion trends. Oh certain die hards don't. But most do. I have every civ game ever made. Had I not moved on from any of them, I'd still be playing the first Civ.

The deletion of old runes and the re-named mastery system was the start of the end in my opinion.

That's where all the damage started to get out of hand.

I'm 30 years old and currently replaying Chrono Trigger maybe for the 20th time... I play that game since I am 8 and I'll continue to play it And I wouldn't want a remake of it... game is perfect just as is, with its limited sound but greatest music, pixel but beautiful, simple but addictive gameplay

Same here. Except I'm soon 29.

I'm kind of sick of remakes. Like, I'm fine with things being more beautiful and all, but all this time and effort into something that was good as is seems like a waste to me.

Don't forget Age of Empires 2 and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the 2005 one not the EA one) for game that people don't just "move on" from
