Why the sudden repeated Ahri bans?

For some reason people are banning Ahri very frequently now. (Was watching a streamer whose opponents got her banned 8 games consecutively)

Is there a specific reason for this?

She's not hard to beat tho, just play Veigar, Zed, Syndra, Yasuo, Talon or Leblanc, they all destroy her

You're kinda wrong here. A good Ahri can dodge Veigars stun and get up in his face with her combo + ignite. A good Ahri can yet again dodge a Zed to where he misses his shurikans preventing the execute from his ult. A good Ahri can dodge Syndra's combo as well. Talon is more of a skill matchup, Leblanc destroys Ahri if she gets ht by the chains, and Yasuo will lose the lane but will win the game.

I have yet to lose to Ahri as Veigar, and one I went against was a gold premade with some bronzies (all had same club name)

Lol Ahri unlike most Mid laners is a skill match up. Doesn't matter vs who, she can win any lane assignment if she is at least evenly skilled with the opponent.

Veigar? Easily can dodge the Baby cage which allows her to never get hit by the W and she can out poke him and out power him early.

Zed? Again Ahri can out play him easily. Things like Zed's lvl 6 all in don't phase Ahri as hard. Zed ults, Ahri uses a Spirit Rush charge back towards her turret then Charms, Fox- Fire, Orb him as he comes out of it plus a turret shot. He will be forced to return to his shadow, you still have two Spirit Rush Charges up to turn it.

Syndra? Bring Barrier, proceed to beat her through Lane.

Yas? This one is actually rough for me, but still very winable.

Talon? I actually pick Ahri into Talon, at no point can he just go face first into you trying to get his combo off because you can always charm him.

LB? Again has to dive in a somewhat open area to connect her Chain, of if she just tries to WQ you you can easily out trade her. Difference between Ahri and LB is that Ahri doesn't have a delay on her burst, she also has a MS steroid on her Q which she'll dish out to LB's face while she fades back to get away from the Chain.

I despise the champion for getting a skin she doesn't need, and could've easily gone to Taliyah instead.

They go by playrate, Taliyah's playrate is even lower than Anivia's, so blame the community for this one

One reason is: a lot of frequent mid players (myself included) hate playing against Ahri. And seeing as how she's getting a star guardian skin soon, we know that she's gonna show up a lot more often. Whether it be a player who mains ahri, or someone who just bought her to learn so they have an excuse to buy the skin. We just ain't havin that.

I feel like it's two reasons.

1)New Skin so people are playing her more.

She's back to Meta now that the other big 5 Mid laners got love tapped like she did a few patches ago. Remember Ahri was considered widely OP by the community and she only got a scaling change, so added with the nerfs to Ori, Syndra, Corki, Tali, Cassio, and LB she is back to where she was just a few patches ago.
