My view on the new Black Cleaver and Assassins in 5.8

I think the new BC is a little weak right now. The only thing good about the new BC is the pure stat increases (20% CDR and 400 hp.) It takes 6 hits to make it reach its maximum shred which is still weaker than Last Whisper. It doesn't even get better than Brutalizer until the enemy has TWO HUNDRED armor. Its stat overloads (the cdr and hp) are what's keeping it an "okay" item and not a good one.

AD Champs don't have many options for armor pen anymore. Since Brutalizer only builds into 1 item, + Black Cleaver lost flat armor pen, people who stacked multiple Bruts have lost 30 flat armor pen in their end build.

Pretty much all we have left to kill squishies with is Last Whisper...which is just a catch-all, medium-effective item.

Assassin builds got severely nerfed in 5.8. Even discounting the existence of Cinderhulk. Double whammy.

AD Assassins still have item 3142 , which is their preferred Brutalizer upgrade for some patches now, anyways.

item 3134 into item 3142 item 3035 item 3074 item 3072 item 3026 . With possible options in item 3156 item 3139 item 3508 .

In the end, assassin's are not supposed to burst tanky targets - but the itemization shown above definitely allows them to 1vs1 them without dying.

EDIT: I also completely forgot item 3078 , which can work really well on certain ADs.

It'd be awesome if they changed the recipe for ER to Brutalizer + Vamp Scepter and raised the CDR to 20%.

Lower the damage to 60, give it 10 armor penetration. You got yourselves a new Assassin item for sustain and much needed CDR. Its sad that ER and BT use the same recipe, ER SHOULD be better for AD Casters, yet the BT is the more popular item for them. This proposition would fix that.

Rather, complete nightmare fits it more closely. Why?

Because you give them AD assassin a way to completely ignore their gatings WHILE, at the same time, giving them a vastly powerful tool with an easy, accessible build path.

That is stupid. So you are saying that an item made up of brutalizer + vamp scepter for 3300-3500 for assassins is better than what every other AD champion in the game gets for 3200 gold? Or did you forget that BotRK even exists? Assassins are HEAVILY reliant on burst, whereas other AD champions in the game are HEAVILY reliant on the ability to do a sustained amount of damage. Assassins NEED armor penetration. Right now, only FOUR items in the game provide armor penetration, the only 2 worth using as an assassin are item 3142 item 3035 No, Black Cleaver is SHIT for assassins such as Talon because it provides a shit amount of damage in addition to the fact the armor pen on it ramps up over time and is more suited to people that do sustained damage... SUCH as people that use BotRK.

The last item is Warrior enchant, which you need smite to use, so I won't even include that.

So the only 2 items suited to assassins in this whole entire game are Youmuu's and Last Whisper. That is what I call poor itemization. I do not understand how raising the ER's cost a couple hundred gold, lowering the damage by 20, and giving it 10% CDR and 10 Armor pen would all of a sudden make it OP, or as you say "a nightmare"

I like the new BC because of the movement speed. I build it on Irelia now and it helps me to stick to people better. Also I 2v1d a Nasus and Volibear when i used to struggle with Voli, anyways it works
