[DISCUSSION] Stealth-on-ally - Is it now workable in League with the new Invisibility/Camouflage?

Back when Lux was in development, her W used to be able to stealth allies, but it was impossible to balance. As such, she got her shielding instead. Since then, Riot hasn't done any attempts to make stealth-on-ally mechanics, presumably because of balance difficulties.

Now that stealth is being reworked in the pre-season, I'd like to bring up the topic once more. Would it be possible to make a stealth-on-ally effect that's balanced, fun, and avoids being toxic? If so, how would you go about designing it?

I'm looking for some debate with this, so chime in with your thoughts.

I don't like the idea of having to worry about the Amumu creeping in the middle of my team because of invisibility.

If it was super-short duration, you wouldn't have to worry about Amumu creeping into your team from the jungle. Also, I'd personally have it so that if an enemy is stealthed by such an effect, you get a warning icon over your head (like with Rengar) that tells you "someone's cloaked, watch out".

This way, if you see that icon and don't see Amumu, you can assume he's initiating.

Actually, I asked Riot if they considered Ivern a stealth champ since his brush grants invisibility (just like regular brush) and they confirmed that YES they do consider him a stealth champ! That makes him the 1st stealth champ we've seen since Kha'Zik in 2012, and his brush turns any number of allies invisible to boot!

And yes it's possible to make a stealth-on-ally effect that's balanced, fun, and avoids being toxic! I've got such an ability on my custom champion concept Imoen, an Honest Thief! With her magic key, she opens a door, creating a dark corridor in the target direction. Any champion that passes through the door, is 'in' the corridor (which is a persistent AoE zone) and is invisible, but nearsighted as well. The nearsighting effect is crucial to making her feel like she's in the dark - a core aspect of being a thief, as well as making her invis 'fair' for everyone! :)

It opens the potential of a champion with shared stealth abilities or as the ult . Would love to see the concept.
