I know I might be salty...But holy moly is Warlord's bloodlust frustrating!

Malicious Metal··113 votes·7,284 views

Seriously, ESPECIALLY on these insert various curse words known to man here Yasuo Tryndamere

Imagine this scenario; Preseason 6 on summoner's rift. Malicious Metal enters the game and goes all like "Hmm...My opponent is Tryndamere, better start cloth 4" So I waddle to lane, convinced this should be enough to cover up my shitty base armor for the time being, the pots probably being enough to sustain me in conjunction with Grasp of the Undying.

I get one, two minions. Then the guy spins on me and starts whacking me, critting me not once, not twice but Three times in four attacks, rendering ALL my damage useless and resulting in me biting the dust. Fair enough, I might just play passively, But no, getting dived the moment he hit 6, barely surviving and seeing him heal to full life within seconds only to once again try diving me and succeeding.

Long story short; We needed FOUR people to actually kill the guy, getting even more bonkers once he got low.

I get that this is the "ADC patch" but damn, Riot should have thought that maybe, just maybe crib-based melee carries would become even more obnoxious due to the "free" Lifesteal AND Attack speed.

It gets worse if you compare it to the other masteries. Strategic diversity? More like one keystone mastery being the undisputed king of frustration resulting in undying rage to spread like a plague.

How this got through is still beyond me? Why? Just why?

To be fair, Trynda has always been retarded like that, this new keystone mastery just made people realize I guess lol.

Trynd has always been easy to bully early. Before now, I mean.

Penns31 votes

He really hasnt... As long as he got 1-2 lucky crits early it was game over for most top laners. And even if he got bullied, he would just get some life steal, max Q and be unkillable anyway.

RamboDash155 votes

Earlier this year I rendered a Trynd pointless in the game by zoning him away from minions as Urgot, but now I don't think I'll be able to do anything, especially now that mana pots are gone.

Westonbirt8 votes

I can confirm that. He's impossible to bully in lane. Even if you get off a volley or Acid Hunters he'll just heal himself back up by hitting minions. It gets better once you get manamura, and then steadily worse again.

But you'll get a potion that gives you a 15 damage dot on your atacks and spells instead!

nobody starts whit that its horrible and no one tried to heal and fight at the same time from the startof the fight. you heal when you start dieing

Troll for Trump1 votes

Have you tried trynd jgl? He was really squishy in the jgl before, and having Warlord's REALLY helps. He can do his first clear without q or a second smite..

Everybody knew that Yasuo was probably going to be an abuse case on this mastery. We pointed it out repeatedly on boards. I'm frankly surprised nobody at Riot thought "hm, how is this crit mastery going to interact with this double crit champion?" Or if they did, they should at least offer an explanation as to why Yasuo needs a free 15% lifesteal and 20% AS.

MrWasjig3 votes

Because Yasuo is one of CertainlyT's big hungry babies where nothing but the very best will do. (The impact of my point is nullified a little given that Yasuo was nerfed a couple times in Season 5)

Riot seems to be pushing for more RNG for some reason, despite lots of people being against it.

ChaosThief7 votes

Certain forms of RNG are fun. Like in a card game with minions, pulling a random minion is always fun.

But playing against another player who wins solely off the chance that he can hit twice as hard is not fun for the enemy.

SKOBODO2 votes

RNG can be fun, sure, but LoL is a pretty competitive game, and even a single kill can sometimes turn the tide of a game.

I disagree that pulling random minions is fun. I pretty much quit playing HearthStone when they put in the goblin expansion. There's just no consistency to the games anymore.

Absolutely. But I know a lot of people who quit HS for the same reason I did. I thought it was a shame, as they did a nice job simplifying MTG.

I'm not sure you can consider it RNG anymore when they are at 100% crit chance... Yasuo

TotalJerk2 votes

Well technically above 50% it's less a case of a lucky crit winning you fights and more a case of an unlucky not-crit losing them.

TurquoiseYoshi7 votes

If Riot likes RNG so much, they should just make their paychecks RNG-based. That would make them stop the RNG.

AquariusGine11 votes

How on earth did this even get through testing..

Left Hook Larry9 votes

That's the problem with Riot. They don't listen to nor care for the community. There were many people complaining about this on the PBE and they ignored them because they don't give a fuck. As long as skins sell

LaowPing7 votes

In all fairness, PBE is a shitty testing ground, this is coming from someone who actually plays PBE. Elos are all over the place. A platinum player can go againt a bronze. On top of that, no one plays seriously there. So many adcs bot, mid, and jg it was insane. A lot of people felt MF was going to be really week but she's doing incredibly well from what I've seen.

CptPic4rd5 votes

I'm sorry, but League of Legends is the most cared-for, well-maintained game I have ever seen. The fact that they are putting more resources into tuning it, balancing, and adding new items and features to it now than they ever have before shows to me how much they care about the quality of the game. They are not just in this to sell skins. LOL.

As for Yasuo... IDK, people always complain that new things are OP. Give it a few months for people to look for counters.

P0IS0N IVY2 votes

May I ask how long you've been playing?

Because Riot does this every year. They aren't putting more resources into anything.

CptPic4rd3 votes

I've been playing on and off since season two or three, but this year I'm more into it. You could be right, about this being average changes, but in a single pre-season they reworked 6 champs, added a bunch of new items, and added the Rift Herald. That is a lot of changes. They clearly care deeply about the game. I just wanted to dispute the notion that they are all just suits trying to make money.

P0IS0N IVY1 votes

That is a lot of changes. My point was that they change a lot of stuff every year.

I dunno about them caring deeply for the game. They care enough to keep people interested and to keep their job. The point of the company is to make money though, and if they do that to make themselves look like a good company, then kudos to them.

Left Hook Larry2 votes

You clearly don't play or follow the league community much. Dota this year has outclassed League in terms of listening to the community and updating the game instead of just making everything broken. Riot is trying to make the game more interesting by changing the meta and making new broken champs every patch. How about instead of taking the easy way out to please a few kids you actually come up with better updates instead of just buffing the shit out of a certain champion pool each patch

okino2 votes

lies. they do care. sure decisions can be a bit irrational but they usually try to compensate for that. and they're a company so they need to make money somehow, and rp, skins, etc. is a way to do it. don't go bashing the company with such insolence. they DO listen and multiple times i see them post about how they care about the game and how the community feels. there are times when they shut us out, but that may be because the community is too out of hand, too much hate. you cant just go around saying that riot is a game company that does whatever they want however they want whenever they want regardless of what their player base says, because if they actually did that, league wouldn't be what it is now. i can guarantee, 100%.

Left Hook Larry2 votes

Can you name me a big change they did that was from the community? Literally everything we ask for they do the opposite or don't give a fuck.

No one cares about toxic players. A mute button is there. We care about trolls who don't talk getting punished.

We want sandbox mode, yet their excuse for not implementing it is it would induce toxicity. Bullshit. It just won't make them money. Every wonder why every patch there's something new broken? It's not a coincident

freeformline1 votes

Out of curiosity, where did you hear the argument that a sandbox mode would increase toxicity? Was it the idea that people would be more critical of sub-par play and building because everyone has a testbed available?

BluePolarizer7 votes

try playing jungle and having only warrior/boots/cloth armor by 15 minutes in because as a jungler you are so poor, that's all you can afford while the ADC masters take half of your camps. At least you can buy items.

kile1471 votes

I saw a thread a bit ago that suggested item 2303 for junglers. Since junglers occasionally build sightstone anyways you can get the eye to supplement your low gold and use it by taking "tax free" tax from your laners after you gank.

Haven't tried it yet, but if you are having an issue with gold might be worth a try?

BluePolarizer5 votes

so I'm talking more about playing a jungler to hard carry a game. If you see my most played, I climbed up to plat 1 in season 5 using primarily carry junglers: Hecarim, Master Yi and Shyvana. I also play tanky tops and supports and surprise surprise, they are also getting nerfed. All 3 of my most played are now almost unviable because you still need to buy your core damage item + tankiness, however, now everything costs way more. In particular, tank items cost far more money yet had their stats reduced, while jungler income has been reduced due to no more +30 bonus gold.

They say that the increased ambient gold makes up for it. It doesn't. That gold is for everyone. That means junglers hit their power spikes later and need to tax lanes more just to not fall behind. If I buy a sightstone, then I'm going to be playing a support jungler instead of a carry or tanky jungler. So does this mean I should only play support junglers from now on?

Meanwhile ADCs have the best itemization ever.

kile1472 votes

Well I can definitely see Hec getting nerfed by all these changes, but Yi should be doing ok (not good, but ok). Shyvana has definitely been hit the hardest, since she is quite literally unplayable.

Starfish H4 votes

Most people say "Nerf Yasuo or Nerf Trynd" but the problem is with the mastery itself. I propose changes to it.

Warlord's Bloodlust: Lifesteal 5/10/15% off a critical strike (only occurs once while off CD and only on Champs) while also gaining 10/15/20% attack speed for 3 seconds (Levels that change is 1/7/13) (CD is 10 seconds but reduces by 1 for each minion that you succesfully last hit with/or champ that you kill or assist which is refrencing to the "bloodlust")

This way if you want to do tons of damage you have to really commit to it and only gain the life steal once in a while and you have to know when to commit and when to back off rather than mindlessly rightclicking.

Saianna3 votes

Before both full masteries & runes gave you one end-tier item worth of stats.

Now? Runes give you about 1 low-mid tier item and masteries about 1 and a half end-game item..

Sigh.

This game getting dumber & faster with every patch.

MAN OF INTELLECT3 votes

crib-based melee carries would become more obnoxious

Exactly true. Yasuo and Trynd are obnoxious League babies. They just whine until they get their lane, farm, and kills. Now with these buffs, these babies become even more obnoxious to deal with AND they appear in games in higher frequencies.

Zair Umbras2 votes

I'd definitely say it's a bit overly powerful. It makes Tryn snowball harder against champs he already beats while if he's against some one that counters him or sustains well, he ends up getting screwed. End game, it's of course incredibly useful, possibly -too- useful on Yasuo and Tryn who have incredible crit chance and scale a bit overly well with it.

NeoScout2 votes

meanwhile the third one is completely useless (the dot one)

Bloodyrains2 votes

Warning, Tryndamere main here since early S2 so possible bias here.

I hope they don't touch Yasuo or Tryndamere, I always dislike when they nerf champions due to indirect item/mastery changes. I'm all for them changing Warlord's Bloodlust though.

Specter0273 votes

Yea, I don't particularly like it when they change the effect instead of looking at the cause and assessing the options.

I love Warwick, he's one of my favorite junglers to pull out, and I was sad when they nerfed his W and Ulti earlier this year, instead of taking a hard look at the Red Smite item (which gave his ulti a true damage component) and realizing that the jungle was simply too damned hard, meaning WW with his healthy clear and stable L6 ganks was all of a sudden a great choice and not something situational.

That being said, I hate Yasuo. Nerf him please.

DogIsGod2 votes

Or remove crit from the game as they said they would since it's such a big problem FOR EVERY CHAMPION.

Ralanr2 votes

Yeah Yasuo and Tyrnd are going to cause problems for the mastery (because lets be honest, they'll nerf the mastery before them). Can't say I've found myself really enjoying it, went Pantheon with it vs Chogath. Felt like I needed to relearn my champion (I'm normally not even bad at last hitting with Panth!) because I felt useless after his first back. I probably could have built better (never did get to try the new essence reaver and triforce combo that match. Had to buy giant slayer and some armor pen to be effective) and the lack of mana pots (Potion of corruption did not feel satisfactory) really messed me up. I may just switch to deathfire grasp and put my 12 points in the resolve tree for top Pantheon.

I have not yet fought a Yasuo or Tryndamere. I am not looking forward to facing them.

Need Gold 4 Tent2 votes

I did warlord's on Pantheon, outsustained a Lee without even buying any potions. It's trickier on Pantheon than Trynd/Yas though, because you eventually get enough AD to last hit without managing to proc his E crit and get no sustain. It took me a while to get the rhythm but once I got it, i stayed in lane until I got a black cleaver and shoes on first back. That's how strong it is, but imagine it on champs that get it on any autoattack. Trynd hits 2 or 3 times and gets a heal. Backs off for 2 seconds, and goes up and gets another heal the same way. GL kicking him out of lane. p.s. he got another Q heal on top of all that so yea...

And on Yasuo, he was supposed to have a weakness of "LACK OF SUSTAIN" which makes him forced to buy lifesteal if he wants it, sacrificing damage. Now he rushes Shiv and cloak, lo and behold, he has 15% lifesteal now in addition to his power spike. And then proceeds to farm up the lane and hypercarry like Yasuos all do. Only that you can't shut him down in lane anymore.

Here's an idea have it half effective for melee champions like they did to things like frozen mallet

WhatAGeinius2 votes

Why would you make it (or anything for that matter) half as effective for melee champions?

Also frozen mallet isn't half as effective for melee champions (because again, doing that for anything would be stupid) it's 10% less effective for ranged champions.

numbers subject to change for balance purposes, as of now tho its to strong on many melee adc

WhatAGeinius2 votes

It's too strong on all ADCs that build crit, not just melee.

Totalis1 votes

I honestly believe that tryn is worse than yas. Tryn gets the free crit from lvl 1 and just snowballs off of it so much harder

Bloodyrains3 votes

Well, Tryndamere has to build up his crit chance, Yasuo can just buy a Shiv and a Cloak for 100% Crit Rate..
