Sightstone

Currently, I have a major bias against "supports" who tend NOT to buy Sightstone. I have seen Morgana and Zyra go straight into Liandry's after Frost Queen's Claim. I have seen Braum finish Face of the Mountain then getting a Sunfire Cape.

I was really pissed off. I tilted and got super angry when I didn't see one building it.

I then realized why people don't build it. Reason One: They don't recognize the importance of vision. I can't assume this about everyone, but I think it applies to some people. Wards can be used for TP flanks, telling where the Jungler is, where the enemy Mid is roaming, etc.

But here me out on reason two.

Sightstone is probably one of the WORST items to rush early, as it is only 50% Gold Efficency.

So here is my proposal to make it more appealing.

Have Sightstone remain at the same Gold Efficency , but make it so that having one gives you a few special effects:

-The Gold Generation of your Support Item is Increased, so for example another Relic Shield Stack (Cap 5 now) another charge on Spellthief's, one more gold for Coin.

-Killing Wards gives you Experience, about the same amount as one cannon creep, and this experience is ONLY given to the champion holding Sightstone, no matter who last hits the ward. This means that as long as the person with Sightstone Auto Attacked the ward once, the champion gets full experience for that ward kill.

Also, because of the AWFUL Gold Efficency of Sightstone, this could not be abused in LCS to get Experience leads for Mid Laners, since a Sightstone rush would mean they lose a lot power.

I might Get lots if down votes, but if I could get some attention for this post that would be great! Please leave suggestions below on what you guys think of this.

Edit: There should be a different amount of experience for Green Wards and Pink Wards, probably the same experience as a cannon creep for Greens and the same experience as the Big Krug for Pinks. Just throwing out some numbers though.

i could get behind the additional gold generation aspect but doesn't it become gold efficient after ~6 wards going by the old cost of vision wards? all and all might give more incentive.

I agree with the increased gold generation as well it would certainly make it a more useful item early, "however" how would you explain then the vision item that the gold generation item builds into when mixed with the sight stone, as anyone can buy that item, personally its a power trade for sure but not as big as building the sightstone alone. maybe if the sightstone was a trinket instead it would be alittle more effective since then everyone could buy one and people would stop blaming supports

I main support and jungle btw and hate getting blamed for lack of vision when I have to babysit a crappy adc and barely get half the gold they do. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

When I watch support gameplay vids (I play a lot of Bard & Lulu, Bronze 4, and have a 100% win rate on Lulu, only 2 games lmao) the people tend to finish FCQ before even buying Sightstone. What I do on first back is buy the Sightstone and Boots, then finish FCQ. Vision really does save lives, and I feel like playing support has taught me the importance of warding. I only wish for a spot to buy pink wards because late game (games in my elo last 45+ typically) when I'm full build there is no room :/.

Let the support do his thing? Braum is a tank, not a babysitter. Most supports should be rushing their main item, for AP mages like Morgana, FQC. Sightstone comes with gold, it's not a priority item.

doubling the passive gold gain would help. the gp/5 passive I mean. for the sightstone ones, make it go back up to 5gp/10 seconds for the sightstone upgrade. the games when i was not support that I played in today involved ap supports that did not make any sightstones. it was so very disappointing.

I like the ideas mostly. Id rather not give coin more power though. It's gold is already through the roof compared to other items. There is another reason that people don't build it, and that's because it just doesn't matter. Most people are too full of themselves to listen to pings or watch their own map, making wards useless. If I had a dollar for everytime I've had an enemy in my wards sight, and spam pinged an ally to fall back only to watch them die because they're focused on CS, I'd probably own every skin in the game.

The game has devolved into kill or be killed game, so people try to build power over vision in hopes of overwhelming an enemy if they do get ganked...and a lot of the time it actually works. I don't condone not building sightstone, but if you're destroying your lane and the jg hasn't gotten a significant lead elsewhere, chances are you aren't gonna get ganked. Games end too fast now adays.
