Urgot and Yorick have also been picked in the LCS recently, just saying.

But yeah, I'm surprised too. That said, the LCS is a patch behind us so the nerfs haven't came into effect.

The nerfs she is getting are going to be heavy on early laning.

I know, just that when a champion that is supposedly "weak in organized teamfights" is picked in the highest forms of play, that speaks for something.

Even then, Urgot and Yorick fill niche's in team comps. Katarina seems more versatile in comparison

It was honestly only a matter of time before she was picked. She was a popular pick in S2 and early S3, mostly by Scarra. Pro players just tend to be scared of picking high-risk champions. It's like there's some kind of... dislike of high-risk champions. Kassadin had his damage moved with his W to give him some risk and the pros ran away from him. They nerfed Eve's ult in S2 and everyone ran away from her as an assassin. They gave Zed an escape with his R and he became incredibly popular. They nerfed Rengar's ability to one shot as a tank and he lost all credibility. Made Zix have to not be tanky to be able to remove carries from a fight and he lost popularity. They made Gragas have to get close to his opponents to do the most damage and he lost viability in pro play.

Overall, it's about time a Pro Player actually showed some TRUE skill and used a champion who is reliant on their team. Who is incredibly powerful, but has some ACTUAL risks. The True Assassin method is positioning, timing, and being opportunistic. Pros have shown they're scared of champions who take this level of thought process and inconsistency.

Pros are PAID to win, in that circumstance I wouldn't take a risky champion either. Still, you bring up a good point +1

Notice that they never get 10 kills in 10 minutes off of roams in the LCS. Your team is feeding, so a strong champ rolls on you.. weird.

You may be right, but still. Whenever someone on boards brought up the issue of katarina being oppressive, the general response was that they're WRONG because she is never picked in LCS. About time people realize that she's not some weak champion

Getting picked every blue moon doesn't really matter. A lot of champions have been picked in the LCS on rare occasions.

well she's failed to kill a leblanc (whos squishy asf) several times with a full ultimate and combo rotation with ignite.

Also ew, before akali receives any changes she needs a rework.

True, still she dealt waaaay more damage than someone like Zed could've in the same situation due to the instantaneous damage ( XiaoweiXiao was confused af by the engage, given how he didn't dash away instantly)
