Is Azir Worth Buying?

Shukuchi··1 votes·5,811 views

Title says it all, I know he is really hard to play, but I am wondering if I should buy him. I'll be testing him out this week, but not now or tomorrow :/ But let me know what you guys think about Azir, a champion who is worth buying or not, even though I need massive skills to play him.

P.S: I am a Mid/Support P.S.S: Is there such thing as a Support playing mid champions? P.S.S.S: Fizz worth atm? P.S.S.S.S: I won't need to continue this "p.s" P.S.S.S.S.S: last time, vote in the poll to tell me if Azir is worth buying.

Thanks, greatly appreciated!

He's very weak right now, but he's fun as heck. He got some QoL buffs to make his combos (specifically the Shurima Shuffle) easier and stronger, and he's not THAT hard. His numbers are just low right now, and he'll probably get buffed at some point.

Spicy Rice1 votes

Maybe not, back when his numbers were vetter, he was known as a champion with exremely high bully potential who scaled insanely well into late game

MisterHealYoGirl1 votes

True; he can be very problematic. If I had to change him, I'd give him buffs to his Arise! numbers to make his damage more relevant and shorten the range so that he's more dependent on his E and R to position in teamfights.

Spicy Rice1 votes

i kinda feel like they have to do that, and increase the range withing his soldiers respond to his commands and potentially his q range

No.He is garbage but very enjoyable.Nevertheless not worth.

Shukuchi1 votes

So he is weak but fun, am I right?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be playing him soon, but now I am more on the "no" side. I was wondering to buy Brand and Fizz instead of Azir. Good choice or no? And I''l be buying Azir using ip after I am done buying the runes I need. Thanks for the help!

Shukuchi1 votes

B4 this post goes inactive, what do u guys think of Fizz and Brand?

3ofGot40ve1 votes

Both op as hell

3ofGot40ve1 votes

Brand is really fun and strong in low elo

Alakalzam1 votes

I bought him recently for fun. Still trying to figure out how to best use his kit, but it's really irritating how sometimes the soldier won't attack the target. Is there a range you have to be in to have the soldiers attack? Am I just clicking poorly?

Having said all that, he's definitely fun due to the fact that he's just so different from most other champions.

bump

To seek for more suggestions, I am still trying to let go of the "yes" side

Azir is hard to use for a couple reasons. First, you have to micromanage and position up to four things simultaneously, and he's not a burst champ. So you have to outplay and out-think your opponents. Like, say you're against a Yasuo. You know that he'll tower dive you to ult you when you're at half health, right? So, you let him do just that, and then ult him right into your tower and laugh as he dies. :P

He's more of an outplay champion than an overpowering damage one. So, if you enjoy thinking and planning every move, go for it. He's a very strong pick if played properly, and very hard to play against.

I mean, I've gotten a 1v5 penta at the dragon pit with Azir, since they all had no blinks. xD So, yes I would highly suggest him, but not if you can't do a lot of multi-tasking and on the fly outplays.

Shukuchi1 votes

Should I buy him when he is on sale and not buy Fizz and Brand?

Niyumi1 votes

I mean, that's up to you. Brand and Fizz are really strong, but also very predictable. Once you blow your CDs, people will know they can jump on you while you can't really do much about it. The same applies to Azir, but he's a bit tricker to play around.

Personally, I think Azir is a lot more fun, but a lot of people love Fizz. Buying Fizz and Brand would open up more roles, since Fizz can go almost anywhere, and Brand can "support."

Shukuchi1 votes

Well I have a "list" of what champions to buy, and so far I really want Zed, Yasuo, and Ekko. I also like Orianna, Zyra, and Cass, but I don't really like Brand because his playstyle doesn't match mine, plus Fizz is kind of alright but his ult is not rlly a big fan of mine. Should I buy something else besides them?

Niyumi1 votes

What's your playstyle? I can give suggestions based on that.

Shukuchi1 votes

Well, i like champions who can do major damages from safe distance (ap poke like ahri and orianna,) I like champions who can do massive amount of damages like Kassadin, and I like champions who can dash or blink and do damage to them. I also like champions who can do a lot of damages to multiple enemies and make outplays. I know I don't have all those word terms, but I think that's it. Just any champions who can do massive damages to many enemies and dashing and blinking.

Champions- Ahri, Ekko, Diana, Orianna, Kassadin, Kennen, Nami, and lot more.

Niyumi1 votes

Syndra, Ekko, Graves, Brand, Xerath. They all have a lot of AoE damage, they can all make outplays, and all of them have long-range poke. Could also try GP.

Shukuchi1 votes

GP, not a fan of, Brand, not a fan with either, Graves, haven't tried him yet but looking forward too, Xerath, he's ok, but not not what I had in mind, Ekko, definitely, I am going to buy him, Syndra, she's one of my liking. I forgot to mention one more thing, I like assassin champions, like Zed, Yasuo, Ahri, etc. I am mainly looking for mid/support champions.

He isn't strong pick.He got nerf very much.Riot gutted him.Even Easyhoon aren't playing him anymore.

Shukuchi1 votes

He might get a major buff like some other champions who are strong now.

Shukuchi1 votes

Now I am in between in the yes and no side, but more likely on the third option, buying him with ip after runes.

Mr Vulcanator1 votes

He goes on sale for half off sometime next month: http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/february-sales-schedule

Shukuchi1 votes

But I am not sure whether or not I should buy him

DrCyanide1 votes

Lets put it this way: He's the only champion I've refunded.

I main Mid, playing mages in particular. Azir just didn't feel like he handled like a mage, he felt too much like a Marksman with odd range restrictions with how his soldiers behave.

FYI after I refunded Azir I bought Viktor, who I found a lot more fun to play than Azir was.

Shukuchi1 votes

Ya, I played Viktor too, he's cool

Terff1 votes

save for jhin :o

Shukuchi1 votes

He doesn't look interesting, you see I am terrible at adc lol.

OverpoweredSoap1 votes

He's worth buying if you put a lot, and I mean a lot, of time and effort into him.

He should reward you with good dps and burst.

He's slightly weak right now, but that's because the pros were disgustingly strong with him.

But he takes a lot of practice.

Azir didn't pick pro scene.Your comment is wrong.

Shukuchi1 votes

I play a variety of champions, so I am not sure whether or not I should buy him.

Tornado of DOOM1 votes

He fits the category of a "Control Mage" like Viktor and Orianna, he needs quite a bit of management from your yourself, the soldiers, and your ultimate. If you want him, go for it.

Shukuchi1 votes

Thanks for the suggestions! I play Thresh and I know he is one of the hardest champion, but I seem to get the hang of him because I know how to play him by watching Thresh players.

Shukuchi1 votes

Now there is a new question, I decided not to buy Fizz and Brand, and if I decided not to buy Azir, what two champion (3150 ip and above champions) should I buy when they are coming to sale? My definite buying is: Zed, Yasuo, Ekko. My likings are: Zyra, Orianna and Cassiopeia. Plus, if you forgot, I am a mid/suppot. And is there such things as a support playing mid champions, for example, a support playing ahri with max e?

Shukuchi1 votes

I'll be testing Azir tomorrow, and Ill decide whether or not he is right for me.

TheZodiac471 votes

Azir is so beast! If you are good at him that is! Whilst in my opinion, I think that azir is somewhat good and useful even if you are bad with him or new with him. Just stabbing the enemies with your soldiers will get you enough kills. Speaking of kills, it hasn't even been a week since I've bought him. I have been farming 20 kills. To be honest, yes I am now pretty good with azir; however, this doesn't mean that he will be insanely hard to use. Azir's reputation has been turned into 'Too Hard To Use.' He is good and very unique and enjoyable to play. Yes buy him but buy him with blue essence.
