Anyone else think ocean drake is the new cloud drake?

I love getting cloud drake after they buffed, but ocean drake feels so weak/useless. I miss the time when it would heal in combat. It meant taking long fights vs the enemy either more risky/favorable. Now it doesn't it even feel worth taking even for the out of combat heal/mana regen.

Keep it in current form.

Change missing % to max %

Seems like a decent buff.

They are all good.

Mountain is really undervalued, but it does quite a good job of helping you shred towers. Infernal is probably the worst, only because it doesn't really help you that much if it is the first dragon. Cloud at least helps you roam. Mountain helps you finish off towers. Ocean helps you sustain.

I think the problem with Ocean Drake is it's mana regeneration is most noticeable before everyone gets their mana items, then after that its noticeably drops.

  • Fire Dragon gives the impression that your active combat and objective taking are better.
  • Mountain Dragon gives the impression that you're better at taking objectives.
  • Air Dragon gives the impression you're getting where you need to significantly faster (thanks to the buff), and helps you avoid poke from Artillery Mages.

Ocean Dragon is the only one you don't actively use. It's not helping you get back out to lane, it's not helping you in combat, it's not helping you break down towers, it's just kinda there. You have to actively try to use it if you want it for anything other than the Elder Dragon buff.

Ocean drake is the least directly useful, but it's still good if you imagine your team making the final pushes to the enemy after a won teamfight~ the regen makes it less likely you have to give it up versus the survivors.

Earth drake is easier to appreciate. They kinda have the same effect. But ocean drake is a little more noticeable in the early game. Will admit it's not usually influential though.

Everyone knows Earth drake is great in higher elos.

But I guess it does get invalidated by lifesteal and healers. So I agree it is the weakest.

I remember back at the time when it heals in combat, I played Maokai building ROA SV, got chunk to super low, Qauto and boom I got half my hp back woth ROA pasdive maokai passive Ocean drake and Grasp of undying.

I missed that version of Ocean Drake, when it actually felt like it did something. If they gave it back the healing while in combat in its current state it would probably be good again but not busted.

trust me it will be busted

I disagree.

While you may not get that health regen in combat, the regen you get is still fantastic base on what role you are.

Whenever I play Mid, Jungle, or Support I love getting that ocean dragon. Mid/Support for keeping my mana up and for jungle for keeping both health and mana at a good level for when I go between camp and/or prepare for a gank.

if you know how to use the drakes they're all great. if you're giving up your second or third stack of drake then you're not getting anything and that is what makes it pointless.

I love me an early ocean drake

it pretty much auto lane win :3

You sustain after every trade and they don't only a matter of time before you push them out, and it solves everyone's mana issues with just 1 drake

the problem is that its useless unless you have 2-3. but even then. only 3 of them aren't nerfed compared to their previous form.
