Patch 6.22 feedback and thoughts

So, I've been playing a few games, and I've been trying out the new things. This is what I have to say.

First off, assassins. I'll begin with Talon first because I'm level 7 with him, and he was my main pre-rework.

Talon feels... weird. His new kit feels good, but the Q range keeps bugging the hell out of me. His W is still nice, though a small slow on the initial hit would be helpful. His damage is a little lacking I think. Before, his damage was great, but now it just feels lack luster. His E is just there, and often times it just feels out of place. It's nice to have, but it's sometimes really difficult to use when in tense situations. Overall, I dislike this rework.

I played Katarina a couple times, and gave up. Her kit does not sync with me at all, and I can't wrap my head around it. I'm level 6 with her, so I kind of have some grounds to stand on, but she feels very delayed. That's good of course, but you have to play her awkwardly now to do damage, and that doesn't sit with me at all. Those of you who did play her and mastered her, good on you. She seems strong, but the issue is I'm seeing a surge of tank assassin Katarina. Similar to Ekko, and that does not fly with me at all.

Poachers Dirk feels useless. It's cheaper alternative for Serrated, but it takes 3 minutes to make, AND you have to invade the enemy jungle. It's a high risk, meh reward. I wish the cool down was lower. Plus, if you make it, you go minus unless you take the time to finish it.

Duskblade is overpowered. The ward detection and canceling makes it a must on EVERY AD assassin and adc. Combined with some mobility and that true damage. Ew...

Khazix... One change made him extremely strong. His ult now passively procs in bushes. This makes him nearly impossible to catch. I just played him, and let me say; he is so fucking fun. With 40% cdr, mobility boots, and duskblade, you can run around the rift at 600-700 ms, invisible from the brush, and the enemy can't do anything about it. He feels immensely powerful, and I love it all. Just, I am sad to say that this is also very overpowered.

Talon:

  • I love the Q. Maybe could use a teeny tiny little range buff, but the melee Q is devastating and will be how you will get a lot of your early kills or winning trades. Melee Q is also why jg talon is so much better now
  • W delay sucks when you're in a tense skirmish or team-fight where everyone is dashing all over the place and you need to worry more about positioning/surviving. 2nd rake heavily relies on CC and perfect positioning. I don't like it. I definitely agree with adding a slow, even if its a weak one, on the initial Rake throw. Other then that, I love the longer range (makes up for the width nerf), and i find it is SO much better at clearing waves compared to old rake.
  • I have to disagree with you on E. It's my favorite ability and is the only reason why I am able to pressure the entire map, and reaching/turning skirmishes and team-fights that my allies would have otherwise lost. Can't tell you how many times E has saved my ass. Talon is an uncatchable god if played correctly

Overall, I like his new damage, I feel like i can do more than old talon but it just requires a little more time. Which is what Riot probably wanted. Really hoping they don't nerf his E/early damage. I'm kinda glad a lot of people find him garbage atm lol will keep him away from the nerf hammer

Kha: This one kinda annoys me. I haven't tried it yet but im sure its a blast. Even so, with the invisibility buffs I don't see why they needed to give him free bush stealth + MS + more damage. As if Kha had trouble 1 shotting before the rework lol.........

I played a few games today and I felt really overwhelmed by the season changes, moreso than any other preseason update to date (of which I've been through all). There was just too much going on, too many things on my minimap that meant different things and too many passives on new items and nuances with the new abilities. Game feels a lot more complex and less inviting than it has in the past. I'm not saying this is necessarily bad but it is certainly something to take note of.

I played Talon (level 7) as my main before patch 6.22.

Before patch 6.22, Talon was a lot more versatile. I could play him mid, top and sometimes jg. After the patch, he's more suited as a jg to make use of "E".

During mid to late game fights Talon is a lot less useful. In Melee team fights, Talon has a "spell/ability" less than before, you're mainly stuck with just "Q" and "W". "E" is useless in team melee fights.

  1. If you decide to surprise the opponent by using "Jump Q" then you're also saying goodbye to heavy damage with "Melee Q". If you have ultimate on cooldown then you really can't do anything. Just "W" is not enough!

  2. "W" is way too slow to apply slowing effect.

  3. "E" cooldown on walls you jumped over makes it so that you can't jump over the same wall more than once. That means that In team fights, "E" is completely useless to cleverly use walls to dodge in and out of fights.

With patch 6.22, the "burst" damage that Talon had is gone. Patch 6.22 is a complete nerf to Talon's gameplay.

Also there's a lot less tactics you can use now, it sums up to the following:

  1. Use "E" to jump over wall and hope that you land next to your target or else you will have to use "Q" as gap closer. If you didn't manage to kill your target with "W" and "R" then you're dead. Before patch 6.22, there were many different ways to use "Q", "W", "E" where "E" would allow me to jump on minions to dodge ganks.

  2. Use "Q" to close gap, then "W" and then "R". By then, whether your target is dead or not, escape with "E" over wall. With all damaging abilities on cooldown, it's best to escape since all ability cooldowns take forever and you'll be dead before you can land another ability.

All in all. I really hate what riot did to Talon.

They nerfed him once before. His "E" used to "silence" was well. Now, riot nerfs him again...

I'm done. Moving on to another game.

Actually, the adaptative runes make the "Breaking the meta" players no more able to perform in their profession during the early game as a jungler , because ap rengar get ad bonus early while i buy the Hunter's talisman, other suffer from the same problems as well (AP tryndamere,AP ezreal,AD Twistedfate,AP udyr). PS:sorry for the mistakes i usualy speak french
