Would Recovery or Unyielding be more beneficial on Caitlyn?
So i did the math for Recovery and it heals only about 24 health a minute. So in theory, wouldnt Unyielding be better on

Well depends on what you build. I really can't know unless i see your build.
It's really out of meta so not really sure. But the math is simple. If you go for tank cait (wtf), you will benefit more from resistances than regen. So yeah, unyielding would be better.
Ive went ad offtank Caitlyn before and it was beautiful, and thanks!
Unyeilding only increases bonus armor and mr, not your base armor. So you have to actually be building armor for it to be effective. Caitlyn shouldn't be building armor since she already is really safe with her high range, and doesn't scale off any tank stats. So I would say to go with Recovery.
I would generally say Recovery ought to be the go-to for a Marksman, as you won't be building enough Armor or Magic Resist to make Unyielding worth taking under normal circumstances.
That said, depending on the actual circumstances, one might be able to end up reaching a fairly decent amount of Magic Resist as a Marksman.
(Theory-crafting here, the integrity of a build with these items may be a bit lacking)
- 35 MR
- 35 MR
- 45 MR
- 25 MR
Total = 140 MR
Including runes, a Marksman could potentially end up with more than 150 Bonus Magic Resist (152 with 9 Flat MR Glyphs, 167 with 9 Scaling MR Glyphs).
Under these circumstances, Unyielding would end up adding an extra 7-8 Magic Resist.
Of course, more often than not, a Marksman generally would only build 1 (plausibly 2) of the aforementioned items at most, hitting somewhere closer to 40-100 Bonus Magic Resist.
In this case, Unyielding would only give an extra 2-5 Magic Resist.
What about Armor?
There is not a single item that grants both Attack Damage and Armor, and the few Armor items have enough of a benefit to be purchased by a Marksman are situational at best (though there are exceptions e.g.
+
).
Under normal circumstances, the most a Marksman might end up having is possibly upwards of around 50-70 Bonus Armor, and an extra 2-4 Armor from Unyielding.
My conclusion? I'm starting to wonder if Unyielding is worth taking on tanks, as it's unlikely to give much more than 10-15 points of either stat.
For a Marksman, it doesn't seem to be worth taking under most cases, though maybe if investing heavily into Magic Resistance (against teams with lots of magic damage champions/fed Veigar).
