An idea to take the randomness out of crits

I know a lot of people around here don't like crits, mainly because they are random, however a few people like crits because RNG is OP. Out of curiosity, what if riot make Crits work the opposite of Ashe's passive? Every time you attack someone you add your crit% to a counter. When it hits 100%, that AA crits and the counter resets.

RNG gone, building crits is still valuable, and you can plan around it.

I kind of like this so the counter would fill faster the more crit chance you have? Interesting But I think a lot of things would be problematic with this.. Would only work if you auto a champion right. Not minions otherwise people would always fill it up prior to engagement

I don't think it would make a difference at the end of the day. Let's say the counter was not shown but worked in background. For all we know that's probably how RNG works.

I think the following would be a good compromise between entirely removing crits and keeping part of its current behavior:

Percentage Damage instead spreads the ideal damage over those 4 attacks. So, if you have 100 damage, at 25% crit chance each of your attacks will do 125 damage.

Whereas crits you have a 1 in 4 chance of critting someone for 100 damage. Over the long run like 100 plus auto attacks you deal the same amount of damage. Over the short run relying on chance can either hurt you or give you huge bursts.

Solution: take a bit from both worlds Such that you would do 112.5 damage per auto and have a chance of doing 112.5 + (100% of dmg x 0.5) so essentially adding half your damage to that. so 112.5 plus 50 = 162.5. so the new max crit would differ by 200-162.5 = 37.5 dmg. from the traditional/current crit
