Jungling the last 20 games or so...

As a jungler I've started every game for the last 20 games by asking "Does anyone not feel confident in their matchup?"

Most of the time, no one speaks up. Once in a while someone will say they're not confident (maybe one out of every five or six games). If someone speaks up, I'll path towards their lane for a level 3 gank. After that I shift over to where I think we're most likely to generate a big advantage, which is often bot lane for objective control.

Perhaps 20 games is too small a sample size. However, what I've found is that since I started doing this, I have not had a single complaint about lack of ganks, even from lanes I've completely ignored during the laning phase (often top lane), even when those lanes are getting focused by the enemy jungler. For those of you who jungle frequently, I'm sure you can attest to how rare it is for no one to complain that they're not getting enough of your attention. It seems to me that by offering people an opportunity to say they are going to need your help, and then them not taking that opportunity, it may cement it in their heads that they've already committed themselves to not relying on your help for that game. And on the occasional person who says they will need help, that early gank shows them you listened, even if it won't be enough for them to win their lane.

Overall, again with a sample size of only 20 games so far, I've had very positive results.

For reference, my current ranking is Gold 4. I was Platinum 4 last season, but had a very rough time of adjusting to the jungle changes, so I lost a lot of games early on. The 20 games described above were basically the climb from Silver 2 to Gold 4.

95% of players in SoloQ is straight garbage. If they need help to win or survive lane, then ganking for them is not gonna make them any better. They will still be garbage. Ganking for someone doesn't not make them feeding trash. You will gank their lane, give them a lead and guess what....they will fuckin throw it away.

A better strategy is to ignore trash ass players and only gank the lanes that have proven themselves to not be trash. I don't care if they threaten to afk. You're better off without their garbage ass anyway.
