Just had a miserable match vs Kleptomancy GP as Darius. Every time his Q came off CD he'd shoot me in the face. Between his mana potion and the Manaflow Band he never ran out of mana. I couldn't get near him either because he just sat on top of a barrel and would blow it up if I came too close to him. Every time I tried to bulldoze through his defenses his jungle Elise buddy would jump me.
What the hell was I supposed to do? :/
I hope this helps: i main top lane and usually use Darius, Moakai, or another close range auto attacker. The best thing to do if you know you can’t fight GP well then just farm. Look up videos on last hitting, freezing lane, wave control, when you give up cs, etc. That’s way even if you have zero kills by 10 min you can at least have some power for team fights. Also if you are running TP, look for opportunities to gank bot with it. Plus if you farm like crazy and he steps to you because he hasn’t seen your power it can be the difference between winning or losing for him.
Often times GP matchups revolve around which player has the superior wave control skills, especially in matchups like Darius where the only way to get on him is through cheese or ganks (unless GP messes up) because you have no gap closer. Through wave control you can zone him from minions or set him up to be ganked.
Probably better to play a diver than a juggernaut into GP
Ban GP when you go top.
As someone who loves playing Darius, it's a tough matchup, what I would do is try to get at least a phage then tart building defensive stats, a raptors cloak is a good choice as well
I usually have good success playing Renekton against GP. Dash in, do your combo and dash out. That’s the general idea anyways.
unfortunately as darius, there's little you COULD do.
your only options were to force a trade by pulling him when he comes close to q you, or roam to another lane with tp to secure a lead.
melee champs generally have a tough time against gp, darius especially. your only real consolation in this is to counterpick with someone like pantheon or utilize something that can answer to his q poke, and if that doesn't work just go for ganks. the classic ninja tabi bramble vest typically works for juggernauts and the like (it'll hinder your killing potential though), if all else fails just make him your main ban in draft
Sadly you can't , even if you can , it would be really better to go roam mid and tp bot , it secures your win much better , and help your teammates to be ahead
