Tower idea: "Emergency Fortifications"

So, we've all been there. Someone gets caught out of position at 20 min and by 21 min you've lost all three of your middle towers. This is not okay.

My solution? Emergency Fortifications. "The previous tower was recently destroyed. This tower takes only 50% damage for 30 seconds."

Nothing too crazy, but enough to at least slow down a snowball before it gets too big.

I'd say that's still being too generous. 75%!

At the same time though this shouldn't make comebacks harder. So the effect would probably have something to do with game time or total tower destructions.

Like if you're down 3 towers then taking an enemy tower shouldn't give their next tower the buff.

It's a pointless change, the idea of losing several towers at once if one or more team members get caught out is just part of league's strategy. If you don't want that to happen then don't get caught out, and if it's happening because boosted teammates don't position very well then you just have to play around it. That kind of thing happens due to lack of team coordination or lack of individual skill, don't go beg riot to massively change the game because you don't understand simple strategy.

Not gonna happen. Riot is going the OPPOSITE route. With triple strength baron buff etc

This is just a band-aid solution to the real problem.

Maybe increase that to 45 seconds to allow the tower to hold out just long enough for the majority of the team to respawn. I think this is a really good idea, and your numbers are not unreasonable. I think the 30-45 second window would be the way to go on something like this.

As much as I love your idea, the state of this community AND riot themselves are in a bad place in terms of game health. They both think that the only route is to balance the game off nolife master-challenger ranks that may or may not even be smart logically, hell they could say balance the game based on palm reading and next thing you know is: veigar gets AD ratios on his R, Poppy gets % max health damage on her W, and Xerath can deal 100% true damage if he can reach 1000 ap.

There is NO logic in the state of balance when it all could change with a bad dart toss.

Horrible idea.If you get someone off guard you should be rewarded equally not waste so much time into pushing and not even getting a tower.

Soraka Nobody expects the banana.

I'd hate to see something like this ruin a complete turn-around, where a team hasn't taken a single mid lane Tower yet and would normally get all the way to the inhibitor because a good fight where everyone survived and/or Baron buff.

So it would have to be up until 20 minutes only or so.

U picked that from Dota2.But u it would be insanely good when defending from baron buff in base, that makes games longer, riot don't agree whit long game... [slayer-jinx-unamused]

One thing that I always liked in LoL compared to how things worked in Dota 2 was how the towers do more damage if they keep attacking the same targets. And I've never liked the fortification options in Dota 2 although I recognize the necessity of them. They could really do something different IMO. But it's not that big of a deal I guess. Adopting a frustrating mechanic from another game doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
