Bronze is better in general than Silver. And here's why.
People actually ward when you ask them, play what they are familiar with, are more forgiving and in general listen and cooperate more in Bronze than in Silver.
But the biggest thing I've noticed in Silver is how many people just straight up don't want to win. They toss in the towel the moment they get upset like spoiled children and if their team is struggling to help them and win the game, they drag them down and berate their team.
When climbing Bronze, I have never, ever went down a division. I have always climbed because teammates usually cooperate, listen, and although they make mistakes they have their hearts in a good place and they have the ambition to win.
I went down from Silver IV to Silver V because I had a string of losses (and somehow you can drop out of Silver divisions when you still have LP to lose). Now, I will admit that I have made my share of mistakes and that first picking Vi is not wise, but some of the people on our team were ridiculously heavy on both morale and the team in-game:
-2 ADC players who threw and started intentionally feeding after flaming the team. -Someone who insta-locked Lulu top after the team asked if she could grab someone who could engage. -A Tryndamere jungle who fed, AFK'd after flaming, then after reconnecting proceeded to intentionally feed. -A bot lane comprised of Katarina and Fizz who ended up having a combined death count of around 30, because they would throw themselves at the enemy team when alone.
And so on.
The point of this post is not to voice my complaints but to point out that maybe the reason some people are in Bronze is because they don't want to deal with the shitstains that reside in Silver elo. So next time you see someone getting ridiculed for being in Bronze (unless the Bronze is acting like an entitled snob), kindly point out that playing in Silver elo is something no person who values their cardiac health should attempt.
That is all I have to say. Now, if you don't mind, I am off to get Gold.
