What could possibly make you think that?

it works with anivia, trundle, azir, and jarvan too ;)

But... a lantern isn't terrain.

All four of those champions make terrain of some sort, like a wall.

But a lantern? That's furniture at best.

Well, I think that its a fun mechanic. Its the hook I don't like. His lantern is just a small shield and a way to get out or into a fight better. I'm still laughing at your comment, but his kit is just as overloaded as any other support in my opinion. Nunu has a (possible free) slow that slows AS/MS with damage. Bard's passive can get insane in late, dealing 250 per meep (3 meeps at that time) for a total of 750 damage in bonus magic damage (AA). I'm not saying that Thresh isn't OP, but as a support main, (who has yet to buy Thresh btw but did play as him) he isn't over loaded. Not when I still see Jinx.

Thresh is overloaded, his numbers have just been trimmed to the point where it is acceptable. The only thing that he can't do that supports normally can is heal. He can peel, he can engage, he can get allies out of harm and he deals a good amount of damage. The only support with as much versatility is Lulu and she isn't as tanky

Tahm Kench deals a good 20% (or more) in health damage to opponents he eats, and I think I'd rather Thresh down bot rather than Blitzcrank.

with 0 ap and max ranks in W, 32% max hp magic damage, to be exact

Except Tahm can't initiate a fight very well in addition to being unable to heal his allies.

They gave it a hitbox so that enemy champs couldn't stand on the lantern and stop you from clicking on it and that's why it will stop your ult. I do have to say that the Thresh was rather rude about it though.

Wait so I can't step on Thresh's lantern to stop the ability? Since when???

So I've been flashing like an idiot thinking I could block Thresh's ally from clicking on the lantern. Yeesh.

and I've been using Trundle pillars like an idiot thinking I could block Thresh's ally from clicking on the lantern. Seriously, the radius of the pillar covers up the clickspace of the lantern, though I've only tested it with allied Thresh, maybe it works differently if the pillar is registered as an enemy unit

Does that mean that Syndra's orbs stop Sion's ult?

I like how the Thresh assumed that you both knew that that existed and that you would actually be able to dodge it. We all know Sion ult is hard enough to hit even without getting blocked or running through someone (item 3157)

TotalJerk1 votes

I'm surprised you're even playing Sion right now with his R>Q combo broken.

captainkaiger1 votes

Huh, didn't even know that was a mechanic in the game. Also, thresh's kit isn't loaded. He simply has a high skill ceiling. The people that are good with Thresh, are amazing.

thresh's kit isn't loaded.

Uhh. You might want to look over it. He's got 2 passives, a hook pull/stun. Knockup/back. And a huge AOE slow.

captainkaiger1 votes

So by that logic, Blitz is overloaded with a long range pull to position, speed-boost, knock-up, and aoe silence, plus his two passives? Thresh's soul-stacking mechanic is so weak. In a 40 minute game, I was able to collect about 180 souls. That was the highest soul count I had gotten. And you get .75 armor and AP for every three souls. 135 after the math.

Or how bout Fiddle? Isn't his kit overloaded with a bouncing silence, a two second fear, amazing life-drain, and an aoe ult that can turn any single game's outcome on a dime? Sure he doesn't have two passives but look at that kit! Somebody please nerf him! (He typed sarcastically)

Let's not point the finger at AP champs though. How bout Vayne? Percent true damage? A long damn stun? An ult that adds a new passive onto her Tumble along with the bonus AD.

Lot's of champs have lots of things in their kits. Hell, just looking at Gnar's kit would make somebody mad if they didn't understand the built-in weaknesses. So simply saying that Thresh is overloaded and just listing what he has in his does not mean he is overloaded.

LegacyDAP2 votes

Thresh can do much more than Blitz. Blitz is revolved around singling out a target. Thresh's whole kit is used for locking down a whole team, and being able to have your whole team disengage. While also having a strong laning phase. He's definitely the strongest support by far.

Did you not look at the rest of the everything I typed? Or were you just going to copy paste that argument the moment you saw a reply? Otherwise, in the words of His Royal Dudeness "That's like your opinion man."
