I'm Silver III, and this is the story of my last queue.
It started out like any queue, with a suspected wait time of 1:52.
3 minutes rolls around, I decide to get up and do some things. I had a great time. I come back, we're up to 8 minutes.
Wow. Maybe queuing for ADC or Mid is a bad choice I think to myself, naw it can't be because it's what riot's been asking me to do.
9:50 rolls around, obviously it's time to snap a quick pic to put on my twitter page. ( https://twitter.com/Steven_McBurn/status/711278918351761408 ) More fumbling around, now I'm more interested in my phone.
11:30 rolls around, time for another picture to keep those 91 twitter followers on the edge of their seats.
13:37, coolest time for the queue to finally pop. First thing I see? "Jungle plz". Guy proceeds to ban out our junglers "desired pick" and ask for jungle again. Now I'm faced with a cool decision, do I dodge? Add 6 minutes to my next queue off 13:37? That's almost an entire game forums. Of course I'm not going to dodge.
Oh, nevermind, someone else dodges after all the picks and bans come in. Well, that was a useful way to spend 3 minutes; at least it was on a different screen.
Yay! Queue pops at 3 minutes in! Oh. It's still the same exact people as before. Great. Well let's play it out I guess.
Fast forward 31 minutes of gameplay and we won! Yay, non-blue-ez because I can't blue-ez on a team that I can't ramp up to blue ez on! Fun! So much excite! Yay duo jungle spam pinging the entire match, the no support bot, and the frankly exciting banter that was happening in the chat.
Grand total of queue time and play time? 1 hour and 6 minutes. Grand total of play time? 31:03.
TL;DR Thank you Riot, there is no need for a solo queue and dynamic queue doesn't take for ever to find matches. I know that deep in the bowels of silver III it's almost impossible to find other players who are queued up because of the limited pool of players, and I'm glad that generally I have ~10 minute queues for 20 minute games this season.
