It only takes one player to completely end your chance of winning.

There's a lot of reasons for this.

A guy flames another guy, suddenly 2 people are keyboard warriors with no awareness of what's going on. A guy afks for god knows why, suddenly people on your team don't even change their style of play to reflect the situation and you lose. A guy decides he just wants to lose, for whatever reason, and plays in ways to ensure that defeat.

But the single most annoying of all, the one that actually tilts me personally, is the guy who gives up after the first blood. Whether it's on him or not, whether your team is ahead, even, or behind; within the first 5 minutes of a game someone will certainly say "yup gg" and wait for the surrender vote that they're so confident is coming.

Why? I get in normals that might be an ok way to play. But often times I ask these individuals, "Why are you queuing up for ranked if you're so ready to just throw in the towel without even trying to come back?" They always respond with the same exact answer; "It's just a game."

I'm well aware that it's a game. I am. But there's two things wrong with that sentiment. First, you've queued up in a publicly rated system, you know the little badges and boarders and your summoners profile that tells everyone about yourself. Shouldn't you at least put the effort in on trying to win even though you don't think you can? Second, if I play any game I'm not playing to lose, why are you forcing me into a position of a loss?

The longer this game has been out the more people are willing to just simply say "Well I didn't immediately snowball so I'm just going to quit now and whine about every one else's behavior on the team" and then they come here and make posts whining about ELO hell and bans they've gotten.

For the love of god league community, please, for the sanity of every competitive person that plays with you, at the very least if you're going to be a spoiled little brat with a magic 8 ball of game predictions, keep it to yourself. At the very least, please, don't type about it in the chat. Don't spend the rest of the game semi-afk farming while critiquing everyone else's play just because you tilted and don't want to be in the game anymore. Quit or something. That would be so much better than the black hole of lame you become.

Coming from Bronze....Platinum players are even worse. All the effort of ranking up to not deal with asshole kids...well, they are still here.

The thing is, you're not allowed to quit. You're forced to sit there and wait for your team, because if you leave you'll get a 20 minute timeout slapped on you. So while you sit under turret and wait for the minions to shove to you, you have nothing else to do but whine in chat.

High elo player: Elo Hell doesn't exist..

In a way true... but the fact your not realizing is that..

Elo hell does exist, the scary fact is.....

Ranked in general = ELO Hell.

You see bronze people complain about all this stuff above, this gold player is coming about it... I've seen a few higher than gold complaining about it all..

I don't think they consider an FF to be losing because they decided it. That's the problem, it's a third option to end the game without feeling like you lost or the other team won. In reality you did worse than lose, you just flat out gave up and "inspired" the rest of the team to give up as well.

What pushes my button the most:

"It's only normals."

Yeah? Well, doesn't mean we can't try and have fun at the same time.

100% agree with this statement. I don't get these people often, but when I do it really irritates me. I may not always start strong, but almost always ending with at least a decent game under my belt. Giving up ensures the fact that you're going to do bad. If you give up there is no way of winning. Being behind however does not ensure a loss. It's only a bump in the road.

I'd rather they give up after first blood instead of feeding. I was literally begging our top lane Jax last game to just AFK because he was 0/9 at the end of the laning phase. If he AFK'd he'd just be 0/0. The fed Nidalee top made us lose ;-;. They wouldn't let us surrender either, it was 3/2 in the votes until our mid laner who carried us finally just DC'd and we lost. I really hope that person doesn't get reported.

Not true: I had a game where a TF fed intentionally after autolocking already chosen mid Enemy was ridic fed but we still won because me and my duo buddy carried hardcore

But it also takes one person to ensure that you are going to win.

Right, and the one person that decided you will lose and then makes it happen, never will get punished. But don't dare tell them that they trolled you into a loss, because that's toxic and ban worthy.

It also only takes one player to carry your team to victory.

What Is Smite12/4/2015, 7:28:08 PM1 votes

In the event that I do end up feeding my enemy laner, I tell my jungler to forget about my lane and just go help the others snowball so that I can make a steady comeback into the game

Riot has said several times that they want to come up with ways to reward good behavior instead of just punish bad behavior. I think there should be a "good behavior queue" that preferentially matches you with other people who have proven that they can be mature and not exhibit the behavior (and some others) that you just described. It wouldn't be mandatory, so you could turn it off (or it could simply turn itself off) if it was going to adversely affect queue times. Better yet it can function independently of mmr. I've thought to myself time and again "I wish there was an Elo for people who aren't DICKS."

In contrast, a good player that: knows how to play, has a good performance and has a good attitude towards the team won't do anything. This sort of asymmetry is what makes me stressed in this game.
