I'm looking for top laners with low counterplay

I play Pantheon pretty well, but since people fairly frequently ban him, I'm looking for other low-counterplay top laners. Note, they don't have to be top tier, just hard to play against. Particularly, I'm looking for ones with a powercurve similar to Pantheon so I don't have to learn an entirely new mindset. I was thinking of Irelia, but I've heard from a few high ranking sources her playstyle is more skillbased even though she has low counterplay (which would make her hard to learn, I'm assuming.)

In any case, even though Zed's OP or something, I can't play him, so I'm not going to try. I'm good with Lulu!, but I don't want to deprive my team of a frontliner by taking her top.

Oh yeah I forgot how easy it was to out-lane a 1000+ game Riven as a first time Irelia because Irelia has low-counterplay.

Get real and learn how to play instead of running to the forums in search of an all-in-one-can't-lose champion. They don't exist.

? You're not reading my question... I've played Pantheon religiously for almost a year now. He is not FotM by any stretch of the imagination, especially since his last round of nerfs in S4. He has low counterplay because if you can get ahead, he is very hard to knockdown. But more than that, he's also easy to learn and play (as well as reinforces really good habits in strategy). It'd be too much to ask that there were another such "noobtube" champion for League out there, but capturing most of what makes Pantheon great in another champion would be great.

I'm asking this because it is not uncommon for some little bitch to ban pantheon. Whether you follow fotm strategies or dedicated to one champ, if that champ is banned, you need to play another one. So that's what I'm asking for as a backup.

what does top lane have anything to do with tank meta? they didnt nerf bork or lastwhisper, nothing that affected tanks as a whole top lane tanks are the same as they've always been

If you can't be bothered to take some time to learn your champ, you deserve to lose top. You're seriously going to go to the forums and ask for an OP champ? Come on, man. Do you have any dignity?

No amount of improving my skill with Pantheon will help when pantheon is banned. It's nice to have a backup.

The point is, you should find a champion that you like, one that matches your playstyle, and then practice with that until you get good. That way, if Pantheon gets banned, you have a back-up that you're actually good with, not one that's low-skill cap, low-counterplay.

I'm sorry I was so harsh earlier, but low-counterplay high-impact champs bug the crap out of me, and it made me angry to see someone asking for such champs, for the sole purpose of exploiting them and making some poor top-laner's life a living hell for 20 minutes with no practice.

So here's what I think. Try Aatrox top. Practice it till you're consistent on him. He's a hard champ, and he has a few problems right now, but that means that if you do well, you do well.

Then you can feel free to pub-stomp as Irelia, because there's no denying, she's fun as hell.

Why are you asking for low counterplay...? Lack of counterplay is what makes the game unhealthy. You should be asking for good top laners who do "X" effectively, depending on what you want to do. Carry? Keep your enemy laner behind with skill? Initiate teamfights? Split-push?

Hell, Irelia gets a shit ton of complaints, but at least she's got some counterplay.

Pretty much both. I like to play Ryze but not nearly the degree as Pantheon, so I couldn't spam him to high gold and remain sane.

Play Swain. Nobody expects it, so no one can counter it well. With Liandrys he rips the tanks ( That are the meta now). He can bully every meele top laner, scales sooooooooooooooooo well into late game. Just ward and avoid Cassie and you are golden
