Hi, this is probably a terrible idea about ranked matchmaking

What if instead of being instantly matched with 4 people (3 for duos) against 5 people, the system was like this.

SAME 10 players are matched together BUT 2 of the same role are assigned the duty to assemble teams. So, they pick their allies of the remaining 8 people. Everyone's main and off role would be visible. And there would be a lobby where people could call "I can also play this".

What would this accomplice

First off, duos who would have to pick their ally or risk losing them would be at a slight disadvantage. None would say forced 50%. It would add some more strategy to the game. It would add the feeling of "playing a sport and picking teams" that riot seems to like.

The entire process would take like 30 seconds or so.

P.S. Obviously this has tons of room for refinement, but you get the jist.

P.s.2. I know this will be unpopular, but can you tell me why you don't want to have something like this with arguments that are not "HUR DUR LOBBY TERRORISTS" "HUR DUR TROLLS" "HURR DUR DODGES"

Why, though?

Nobody would put any thought into picking utter randoms they know nothing about, and it would just be a waste of time and room for more drama/quitting.

I don't believe it's great for ranked ladder but its not a bad system for a que type.

I tried to get a group of 10 to show how fast a draft can balance teams. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/5NHV83dn-science-project-need-bodys

So if you wanna collect some data on it let me know. If I can wrangle a group I am happy to share results.

As you know MM systems are kinda a interest of mine.
