Did Black Cleaver always shred Armor as a combination of base And bonus Armor?

What I mean by that:

If a target has 100 base Armor and 100 bonus Armor, Black Cleaver's shred works in a way to reduce it to 70 base + 70 bonus Armor, total 140 Armor (70% of 200).

I always thought that Cleaver's shred worked to substract from bonus Armor, meaning that it reduced the example target to 140 Armor, 40 of which is bonus.

I mean, the way it actually works makes totally sense from a perspective of logic. This way, it does actually synergize with bonus Armor penetration, instead of a harshly mitigating that effect's impact.

For illustration of that point: First case target has 70 base Armor and 38.5 bonus Armor after LW, total 108.5. Second case target would have 100 base Armor and 22 bonus Armor, for a total of 122. Notice the difference?

"UNIQUE: Dealing physical damage to an enemy champion Cleaves them, reducing their armor by 5% for 6 seconds, stacking up to 6 times for a maximum of 30%."

It clearly says their armor implying all of it. As far as I can tell its always done that. So yeah darius is ignoring 55% of all of your armor every game.

I knew that it always did that. However, what I did not know/realize was the exact mechanism, that Black Cleaver works by the mechanism outlined in the first case and not the one described in the second case.

It did not make a major difference prior to S6, after all, before the change to Last Whisper.
